I've never understood the redesign for Mr. Slam in Twisted Metal 3. How is he supposed to latch onto cars and slam them into the ground when they switched him to a skid loader?

Cheers.

I'd love to see a super huge Dark Tooth model!

something about the size of a sit on lawnmower.

And compare it against the normal size cars lol

By the way, that was TM4 Slamm. He wasn't even in TM3

I hate to burst your bubble but IRL there is no way Mr. Slam could do what he does.  NONE.

True. But that applies to pretty much anything related to Twisted Metal. At least in part two you can look at Mr. Slam and go "well that makes since"

The redesign was just ... stupid. It looks better suited to flip cars over than actually slam them repetitively into the ground.

Probably true, I didn't like anything at all about TM3/4.  I honestly don't remember ANYTHING at all about TM4.  I only played it 10 minutes or less.  Honestly looking at the character selection screen I was so irritated, because I remember in 4 they completely fucked up the characters all together.

And the only thing I remember about TM3 is Darkside is a boss, which MIGHT be cool because Darkside is a kick ass car, but I'm glad they gave him/her back as a playable car in Black.  Hope he/she makes TMPS3 also.

So now I'm going to have to look up some Mr. SlammmmMMMMMM pictures from TM4 and then probably stab myself in the eye with an eating utensil when I'm done.

like Scold, I played 4 for only a lil bit. honestly, I dont remember shit from it aside from Calypso being a playable character in a nuke-primed firetruck.. which is a fucking NO-NO!! Calypso is NOT a playable person, end of story.. altho the firetruck was a good idea for a car. I dont remember this Meter Maid person I saw mentioned at all..

the only good thing about 3 was the Rob Zombie soundtrack.. altho that got old after a while with the same few songs playing repeatedly. I did like the X-Mas remix of 'More Human Than Human'.. or at least I think it was 'More Human Than Human'.. I dont remember

I might get kicked right about now for saying this but although I could never really see Calypso driving a nukemobile I don't rule him out as not playable.

I mean if the new game doesn't have stories in the normal sense I wouldn't want the big C to be canned completely.

Maybe he'd be hidden or an uberboss character or something?

I think any character in the series can swap around a bit if done right.

Just to add there mate: Yes, the more human than human remix was one of the best tracks (of tm3) but that north pole level was terrible- yes I confess to playing 3 and 4 like a madman!

I mean imo to slate a game you have to play it through and through first.

TM3, I hated some of the small levels and physics.
TM4, it has to be the weird new characters, massive car imbalance.

I think a lot of the younger crowd that didn't really know better played a lot of TM3/4. I played TM3 for a while even though the physics were bad but I was 8 years old and a video game was a video game.

Now we're grown up and realize, "Ok, that's why those games didn't feel right" TM4 more so than TM3.

Both games had some good/great ideas but they just weren't implemented right. TMB even took some ideas from TM3/4. Hence, Auto Lob = Satellite.

Being 8 doesn't mean you can't have a good taste for games though Smiley

I mean, some people are in their 20s and still play WoW.

I like your open-mindedness Arch, but I just cant see Calypso being someone that we can control. he's the main man behind the scenes, and it feels like it should always be that way. IIRC, wasnt Needles the big man in TM4 while Calypso was a contestant? even at a somewhat younger age, I could look at that and see the blatant "poser-ism" of throwing Sweet Tooth at the top of the shitpile, simply 'cause he's the marketable one. it just went to show that 989 was all about the cash and didnt give 2 shits about how the games turned out..

"guys, how can we make this Twisted Metal thing make money for us?"

"we can make that clown guy the main boss, since everyone seems to love him anyway."

"brilliant.. just drive and shoot.. fuck the rest. we'll make millions!!"

I will admit, I bought 3 the day Toys 'R Us got it and played the shit out of it.. I didnt like it nearly as much as 1 and 2, but I still played it 'cause I played the first 2 into the ground. when 4 came around, I rented it for a week.. never bought it or rented it again, so what lil memory I have of that game is from the first week it was released, but I did like the Firetruck and liked the kid's bedroom stage..

"I mean, some people are in their 20s and still play WoW." - SCoLD

11 Million people have active subscriptions to that game. So seriously, fuck you.

"wasnt Needles the big man in TM4 while Calypso was a contestant? even at a somewhat younger age, I could look at that and see the blatant "poser-ism" of throwing Sweet Tooth at the top of the shitpile, simply 'cause he's the marketable one." - NRG

First off, you're a moron. Wait, sorry I forgot you haven't even PLAYED Head On yet. Excuse me while I spoil Sweet Tooth's ending for you. In TMHO he dethrones Calypso and becomes the new contest leader. Like TM4, but with a twist. So if you need to bash TM4, you're bashing TMHO in a way cause they basically pulled the same stunt.

"but I did like the Firetruck and liked the kid's bedroom stage." - NRG

"but I just cant see Calypso being someone that we can control" - NRG

Calypso WAS the "Firetruck". GG

/correcting people

The only good ideas that came from TM4 were Orbital and Neon City. Great level design and Orbital's special was very unique and it gave him a very unique playstyle.

15 million people also play the even shittier Runescape online.  Is your point that people like to play shitty games all about time spent and not skill?  If so, then you have a valid point.  Thanks for the correction Smiley

If I was afraid of climbing a steep learning curve I wouldn't spend 100 hours playing Warhawk either, I'd just boot up WoW or Runescape and grind myself over and over until I have better gear than everyone else.  You're absolutely right.

11 million people also have genital herpes.

It does take skill to learn your class in WoW or to figure out how to fend off from other classes in WoW.

Sure getting to the top level is a grind, it always is.

You have to be extremely skilled in PVP. I think you're just pissed cause I can't stand the shitty graphics in Magestorm and refuse to play it.

By the way your Herpes analogy makes no sense, considering 11 million people WANT to play WoW. NO one wants herpies.

Try harder next time.
