from a mar 2001 gamespot writeup, brings up spectre if you scroll down a few paragraphs it says she resembles a "sadistic catholic nun" a wedding dress and a nun outfit are fairly different id say, the name bloody mary would make sense as a nun too.

I can see how in the beta especially the selection screen with how her face looks and the way the dress looks from the angle maybe thinking it looks like a "sadistic nun" but they played the game themselves and would clearly see its not a nun, so not sure if something else was going on there as what they played based on the date of the article would imply it was from February 2001-very early march the latest which are both before the widely available prototype.
