Sony has put out a new wallpaper supporting a terrorist organization for PlayStation and I will no longer be supporting them until they stop pandering to one side. They shouldn't do it at all BUT... if they're going to, they should do it equally. Let's now see something Trump related or what have you...
My thanks goes to Geeks and Gamers for bringing this news to my attention:
They are not designated as a terrorist organization. They are more of a political revolutionary group inspired by Marxism, with a focus on police brutality against people of color and a focus on the disadvantages people of color may have in America, a capitalistic system which they deem oppressive. And yes, clearly they do not support Trump and the police, for the most part, so they have become an extension of the Democratic Party (for now, as long as the Dems find them useful).
Yes, they partner up with Antifa at times, who may be labeled a domestic terrorist organization soon, because of riots they have been associated with, but they are not as bad as say the KKK, who will also be labeled a domestic terrorist organization soon, finally. I hope whatever is left of the KKK is destroyed for good, along with the rest of the hate groups.
But are corporations like Sony politically pandering in this example of offering a free BLM theme? Yes, of course, but it is just a theme. You don't need to download it. But boycotting Sony? Really??? Sony is owned by a Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation that loves capitalism. They release a BLM theme because they think they will score points with the westerners, and even if the reaction is half negative, they now get a lot of media attention to their product. It's a win-win for Sony even with threats of boycott. They know that gaming addiction is so strong that most people calling for the boycott will cave in and spend their money anyway, and Sony's virtue signaling will also win over a few people that may now consider buying a PS5. Just think about it, if Sony released a free Trump MAGA theme, it'd be a Lose-Lose situation for them.
Now if you want to boycott and not buy a PS5 because of the lack of backwards compatibility... that I'd understand.
