Yesterday, DJ Normality (aka Sharp) was banned from the TMA Discord server. He responded by sending hatemail DMs to some members and posting a ton of spam in the TMA forum (similar to what he did ~2 years ago). I subsequently recycled the forum spam and banned his account.

Also banned some older dormant accounts that appeared to belong to him. Perhaps one of them was banned in error.

@Kyata
Would it be possible to PM me the username of the account you're having trouble logging into? FWIW your Coleosis account's username/email address are in good standing. Maybe try logging in again just in case it's working now. Btw I just sent you a friend request on Discord.

Just wanted to give a heads up that this has been sorted out

What happened is that I banned a mix of usernames and email addresses... some of which were very short/simplistic. Turns out that YaBB evaluates banned email addresses as suffixes (as opposed to exact matches). So for example, banning "a@gmail.com" would also cause "this.is.the.letter.a@gmail.com" to be caught in the crossfire.

That's what happened with Coleosis' account. Its email address matched one of the newly-banned email suffixes. As a result, I've unbanned email addresses that are too short/common-looking.

Username bans appear to be exact and not treated as suffixes. So all of those are still in place.

It was kinda my fault cole. I have been doing leg work and spreading the discords to the TM community at large. Trying to keep a dying community some what untied. So I linked the discords in the FB community knowing damn well Brandon sharp was there. But I thought after years his dumb ass moved passed the transgressions on a god damn internet forum, but I was wrong.

He personally attacked a few members and spammed this forum. Which I hope he wises up.

If he had something to say or an issue to push he should of come to me instead of involving everyone else.

IMO it was still worthwhile to try spreading the word about it

Spreading awareness like that can help build a better community and potentially lead to new/returning TMBO players (or even TM1/2/X online players). It wouldn't surprise me if your efforts led to some new players joining in recent times.

I'm more than happy to deal with occasional bad apples given that the vast majority of would-be members are likely to be well-meaning... Imagine if you had held off and the TMA Discord lost out on the next Meh, Lilith or Vilikis. That would've of really sucked Sad

What happened with Sharp was very unusual. It's kind of ironic that I ended up being the one to clean his mess lol. I felt some sympathy for him when he first started posting in the TMA forum and had sometimes defended him behind the scenes. He probably mistakenly assumed that the TMA Discord and forum are one in the same. But in practice, none of the Discord admins he got into a feud with are forum admins/mods. Not to mention that Magnum has no involvement with the Discord community (@Magnum if you're seeing this - we'd still love for you to join someday).
