I think they will appear in some form and there will be plenty of cameos. From what I understand multiple members of the creative team do actually like the video game series. It may be hard for them to brush off the perception that they will be reinventing the wheel and changing the lore too much but Twisted Metal's lore was always pretty disconnected and seemingly reworked for every title so to be true to tradition the TV series would have to go with a similar approach of reworking the TM story but while carrying over many character/vehicle names, themes, tropes, settings, weapons, etc.

Here with a new entry focusing on Ken Masters, Cousin Eddy & Gene. We are on the set of "Urban Assault 2" starring Ken Masters. The  first movie entry released prior to the first Twisted Metal tournament which is what Mr Grimm had also worked on before the tournament as a stuntman for Ken Masters who has been selfish, arrogant, disrespectful & hateful from the first movie's success driving his ego. Cousin Eddy & Gene from Head:On will be another driving duo like Mike & Stu and are background extras on the film set.

Urban Assault featured Ken Masters as a policeman taking down gangs in a neighboring town of LA equipped with only has bare hands and his motorcycle. And now the sequel features more over the top action and more push for Ken's attitude. We see him switch out with a stunt driver between takes who ends up hurting himself in scary fashion with crew looking on worried. "Where the hell you get these guys?!" yells Ken Masters showing no concern at all. "They are freaking replacable like drummers in a rock band!" This springs both Cousin Eddy & Gene into action.

Ken heads into his huge RV sized trailer while medics tend to the hurt stunt driver which gives Eddy & Gene a window of opportunity to vandalize Ken's own car he happened to drive on set to show off. Moments later is when a crew member warns Ken what happened to his car with Gene hiding nearby for Ken's reaction while Eddy sees Ken's RV in his sights. "Shiny!" says Eddy with a smile. "Ken Masters has a small... NO I FUCKING DON'T!" Ken yells as he reads what was scratched onto the side of his car.

Gene quietly laughing by himself from a safe distance then notices his cousin isn't nearby. But quickly spots Eddy inside of Ken's RV forcing Gene to go inside to convince his cousin not to dare take it. The RV is then driven off the set which pisses Ken off that he decides to enter his ruined car to chase after Eddy & Gene for his RV back.

Still working on this. May have a small update on Sweet Tooth (Needles) and an update on Calypso with Miranda Watts, Axel, Melvin from Apocalypse 9.
