Hello everyone! As you can probably tell, I'm new here. I am a huge mask collector/creator, so I've always wanted to make a few based off TMB's characters, but I ran into some issues I hope you guys can help me with (or at least discuss)!

I know Grimm's skull could be replicated in latex, and Sweettooth's mask can be made in fiberglass, but what about Dollface? It looks like her mask is fiberglass or porcelain, but how exactly do you think her mask works, considering the screws and lock and whatnot? What would go into such a contraption? I'm just thinking too much into it, but a mask that locks would be...interesting to say the least.

What about Minion's fur? What kind of material (or fur) would match that? And the horns too? It seems difficult to mix the two together (hence why no one has really tried it before). It literally seems like one of the simplest headpieces in concept, but execution has proven difficult.

Finally, Black. What the hell is the deal with his stuff? It's basically just a hardcore gimp mask, but the zipper placement boggles my mind. I don't have a single clue on how to even begin on the zipper placement. Even worse, his cutscene in the game makes his mask look like a thick fabric instead of leather, and a huge bow on the back of it.

If anyone has any ideas on how to make these specific masks, or workarounds, let me know. Besides that, what's everyone's opinions on their design?

Dollfaces contraption is actually a lot simpler than it may seem. The key is over complicated for no reason really, but put simply the mechanics would be as simple as a key turning, pushing a hooked latch down into a fitted slot.

It's kind of hard to explain without a drawing.. but I'd imagine the mechanics would be behind some sort of interior wall.  The challenge would be getting the mechanics to engage and disengage without interference.



Basically something like this. Except the key and rotation would move the arm forward into a latch on the front mask to lock it in place.

Rather than well...being a combination lock.

It's really not easy to explain short of drawing you a blue print and I'm not free.

It would be cool to see these masks when you are done!
