A Twisted Metal movie is not possible

To be more precise: A Twisted Metal movie is not possible to make without alinating fans.

I've wanted to say that for so long but never did because I wanted to figure out if there is some way to make a TM movie that would please all TM fans who have a favorite car/character (not ro mention I've been away from the site for quite some time). Not to mention just being fair to the cars/characters. Strangely, I've never seen anyine mention it before. Honestly, how does anyone, be it Hollywood or the fanmade, make a TM film that's going to be faithful and satisfying? I don't even think Christopher Nolan could tackle such a project (or whoever else anyone thinks is great). Every time you play as a car/character, that's ONE MOVIE with a different scenario. TM2, for example, has 15 characters (including bosses). THAT'S 15 MOVIES! A video game can get away with this, however, because its a different scenario per character where they win and ALL of the other characters lose. As you can see, there's a great dilemma here with TM. How can you make all of the characters win (live) and lose (die) at the same time? Again, it's impossible. Despite this, it seems fans still dream of the possibility of one day seeing the unadmitted impossible movie (even writing movie scripts where ONLY ONE CHARACTER WINS. Ugh!  Angry ). Granted, it would be very cinematic; but character and story wise, it can't be done with proper treatment.

Also, I realize there have been talks of a TM movie in the past with like Avi Arad as producer or whatever; but that was eons ago... and I think I know why. It's as I've been saying: it's impossible. And I'm sure they realize this and it's why we're not hearing anymore about it. Likely, they were just gauging people's reaction to the announcement around the time of TMPS3's release. Why? Because maybe... just maybe... with enough excitement, they could go ahead and alienate a lot of TM fans by only allowing, say, Sweet Tooth to win. Of course, if that ever happened, it would need to be called Sweet Tooth the movie, not Twisted Metal. But it must not have been enough excitement amongst fans for them to go out on a limb and make another crap video game movie with TM this time.

Honestly, the only way I can see solving this dilemma would be to make about 15 TM movies where each one focuses in a different car/character as the winner. But given that the popularity of TM isn't the highest of sorts, IMO, we could never have a crazy thing like that happen. It would be difficult to have 1 film, let alone 15. So the next thing would be to stuff about 15 mini movies inside one big 90min - 2hr movie. But, truth be told, if we were to have it like that, then we might as well just have another a new TM game come out altogether because that's what TM is: a bunch of mini movies inside one package. Albeit, a playable package.

Anyways, that's just my opinion. But I'd still like to know: Does anyone else agree with me or are there some still thinking that there is a TM movie in the future that stands a chance at satisfying everyone; or at least most everyone? I'd like to know because of course I still like the idea; regardless of the possibility or impossibility...

Well, a movie could juggle many characters and do justice to some or maybe most of them depending on how well produced a production it is, but the problem is you need a compelling central character, and I think that's more the dilemma with a TM movie, as opposed to the TV series Playstation Productions are doing which doesn't necessarily need to focus on a main character and can focus on many TM characters, even obscure ones, and original ones that are inspired by an existing TM character.

With a movie however, you kind of need a central character. Mad Max has Max. Death Race has Frankenstein. Twisted Metal would have Sweet Tooth - but - is Needles (aka Marcus Kane in TMHO & TMX) really a compelling lead character? Not really. He's an evil and crazy mass murderer.
Then you have neutral evil characters like Calypso and Mr. Grimm who find joy in the death of others. They aren't great main characters despite being characters that appear in every TM game.
So your primary good characters and potential protagonists are characters who want to end the TM contest... characters like Carl and Jamie Roberts (Outlaw & Outlaw 2), Agent Shepard (TMHO Crimson Fury), Agent Amanda X (Pit Viper), cyber Krista Sparks, Warhawk, John Doe - plus the evil guys like Mortimer, Mr. Ash,and Black that want to screw over Calypso.
Unfortunately characters that entered the contest for personal reasons... revenge/vengeance like No Face, or fame and glory like Ken Masters, or for the thrills like Amanda Watts... those characters probably would be  expendable side characters because it would be harder to involve them in the central plot.

A TM movie would need a Good Vs. Evil dynamic of some sort. It can't just be some movie where Sweet Tooth is on a rampage and every character in the film is evil.

But yeah, I don't see a TM movie happening unless it's animated I suppose, because then it would not need the big budget a live action TM movie would require. There are 4 different TM universes in the game series too, and trying to make 1 movie out of the source material would be a challenge. Generally video game movies are not well respected either, so it probably would take a Christopher Nolan type just to convince people to see it, and the elite directors would never do a TM movie. Maybe Rob Zombie would, I guess, but he'd make it more of a straight up horror with less action, and a TM movie would absolutely need a lot of action scenes, on par with Mad Max Fury Road.

I would like to see a 4-part movie like Tales from the Darkside or Twilight Zone the Movie, each with a different director focusing on a different character.

Sweet Tooth, Minion, and Mr. Grimm would be some of my picks for central characters.
