On October 25th 2018 WarHawk, Incognito's last game, will be coming to an end after 11 years.
Likewise, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, and Twisted Metal PS3, will be going offline.

Im sad about warhawk  I spent a good year and a half playing it under a different moniker. I went back after a hiatus with my new Adonael name and hackers ruined it for me. Despite that I was going to play it again atleast with Aced or something, but now that looks to be nixed.

Kinda sad but understand at the same time. A legit unofficial server would most likely have a better time at controlling hackers TBH.

So my hopes are there.

All stars was a smash rip off and being so I saw it as a sinking ship before it hit market thats all I am saying.

As Far as TMX I never cared for the game but for those that loved it this is a solemn blow and as shared fans of Twisted metal that sucks.

Sadness.

About All-Stars I think the same as Adonael.
Warhawk is the sad story here, since it lasted for so long and was really good. And even if I sucked at it really bad.
Twisted Metal never let me in any match, so it will be the same for me. Besides, what I really enjoy in the game is in the AI deathmatch and sometimes the story mode.

Because TMPS3 is playable via PSNow on PS4, would it be possible to use SharePlay on it to play normal 4-player matches?  It's still playing online in another way.

SharePlay doesn't work when using PSNow.

I shared my thoughts about TM going out on the Twisted Metal 2012 thread, but in summary it's sad to me because I know it's sad to those who loved it, and bastard child or not it was the final life left in the official Twisted Metal productions.  Now they're all gone.

Warhawk though is the real bummer. You'd think I'd have it in for the game since it played a HUGE part in both TMB2 getting shit canned and Incognito going under, but the problem is, the game was straight up brilliant.  It blows my mind that Sony never made any serious attempt to duplicate it (other than Starhawk which was a completely redesigned WTF - like - what is it about Incog and it's offspring that made it hate the obvious sequel cash ins?!).

There really was never anything quite like it before or since. It's exit will leave a gaping hole in the gaming world, even if too much of the gaming world is too stupid to realize it.

Eleven years is a frickin' great achievement though, and an excellent hurrah for any game studio to go out on.

It will be missed.

I never had any interest in Playstation All Stars except that it was the only avatar I could get with a TM character so I won't miss its online at all.

Twisted Metal 2012 just couldn't get out of the way of itself. With a jacked up online component that barely worked but could have been so much better with a prolonged beta it was hardly functional at launch. I enjoyed the better graphics, the soundtrack quite a bit and many of the new and old ideas implemented into the game play, ramming particularly. I know many here hated it for its faults but I had many fun moments with it. Still I barely played online compared to others so I am sad online is going away but mostly when it comes to the potential missed. It could have been so much better had the developers been able to iron out its internet issues and worked with the community more.

Warhawk is the real loss to me. As I wrote elsewhere there was nothing like it when everything was clicking, all or the majority of players engaged working towards a goal. Everything just felt right in those moments. I will have to get more games in before its all done.

If Sony and ESP had stuck with TM2012 and kept patching it, tweaking the gameplay mechanics, and creating dlc packs for more cars, more bgs, more character stories, and adding more online modes, then the game, the franchise, and the fans would have been in a much better position to keep the game alive.

It just seemed like neither Sony or esp had any Interest in the game after its release.

The game was delayed before but it was only to add live action cut scenes to the single player and not beta testing the server.

Did they ever reveal why the game got delayed? Jaffe revealed they were filming live action scenes back in 2010 well over a year before the game came out. The Live action scenes and inserting them into the game are probably not why the game got delayed. They make episodes of TV shows in a matter of several weeks, 10-14 minutes of cuts scenes in a video game wasn't going to cause a several months delay. I might be not remembering correctly but I thought Jaffe mentioned that the delay was due to them needing to squash some bugs with the game.

I played a few final rounds of TMX and although the game was not perfect (Hell it wasn't really even functional online) I still really fondly remember playing it. I was a hardcore TMX player for the first year and a half that game was out. I unlocked all the trophies and beat the single player on Twisted to unlock Warthog. I really had a lot of fun with the game even if the online wasn't always reliable.

But in 2013 I noticed a lot of hackers and spammers and the online not being fixed despite numerous rounds of patches just made me give up on it. I also had also started my first post-college job in September of 2012 so that slowly killed a lot of my video games time so I cut down on TMX and played other games instead.

I thought TMX with the right balancing and patches could have been the best TM game. In the last few rounds I played of TMX when there weren't any hackers and it was pretty stable I really enjoyed the game and had a good time. It kind of felt like the game I thought it could be.

Now that's not to say that TMX even with the right patches and balancing wouldn't have had issues (8 levels despite map variants could get a little stale, the homing issue of course was probably something that would have needed a big patch that they might not have done, and the special weapons were repetitive in a lot of cases, also the single player had issues like the racing was awful.)

But I still love TMX, I put it right up there with Black and TM2 as one of my favorites of the series. The graphics still look good, the game plays well, and the level design is some of the best in the series. It just is awful that the online (a huge selling point of the game) was outright garbage for the most part. I really hope Twisted Metal gets one last chance as a franchise, a TM2 remake would be amazing to see. But I doubt it makes sense for Sony to do that economically.

It was delayed because they couldn't get the online to work.
