I think you are missing who the audience for this is. Yes there are a ton of PS1 games you can buy on PSN if you own a PS3. But most people who will be buying this probably don't own a PS3 or PS4. This console is targeting older Playstation fans who have fallen off with gaming and would like something to play some of the old games on.
Most of us that have said we are not interested is that "older" PlayStation crowd. though most of us have at least ps3 if not a ps4 So I can't say any of us have completely fallen off gaming in the last decade.
Quote:The hardest of the Hardcore Playstation fans will also buy this and the oldest generation of PS fans will buy up this thing. Sometimes people just want an easy way to play games they remembered playing 20 years ago. I think the fact that the previous "mini" consoles from Nintendo were hackable which helped provide value to people who can add hundreds of games to the system.
Hardest of the hardcore would buy Playstation branded shit logs if they were available That demographic, which is known as the early adopters, is quite a small percentage, even though that is were advertisers and marketing tend to focus for some reason.

sole.
I don't agree with it being an easier way to play these games, but I do agree if hackers get into the system and learn things from it might get us better emulators, but that's all it really owns up to. Also with stores like V-stock, Ebay and Amazon you can get some of these games from 2-5 bucks. instead of spending 100 for a bunch of chaff you wont ever play.
Really what it is is them riding the coat tales of Nintendo and trying to cash in on nostalgia and hipster trends.
Quote:I would consider picking it up myself as I have 50 dollars in Best Buy credit and I have no clue what to spend it on so this might just make for either a good gift or something to put under the TV.
See this I can agree with though. If you have it why not? Maybe we'll get surprised and some rare gems that are 100+ might be on there, but I don't think I'd get my hopes up.
If you do. Let us know how it is, and what games are on it. I'd like to hear some opinions on this from the people who do buy them.
