Since Manslaughter/Black wasn't a Blackfield Asylum patient, and thus not an official contestant of the contest, he wasn't entitled to a wish, thus Calypso was not obligated to stick around.

Black also says that he was made to kill Calypso, hinting that there was someone behind-the-scenes that created Black (kind of like how Mr. Ash/Darkside created Black in TM1's story). Black in TMB I think was something similar to Frankenstein's Monster, a creature built in a lab, which would explain his simple, slow manner of speaking.
