This is truly heartbreaking. I was around during the duration of your dad's time here and he was funny, creative, smart, and undoubtedly the most kindhearted and generous person this site has ever had. Above everything else, he was a good person - the kind of person that made you want to be better yourself.

I am incredibly sorry for your loss, and for the world's loss, really. Directly or indirectly, he touched a lot of people's lives.

My family and I went out of our way to include his sometimes inappropriate humor during his funeral and he was buried with a pretty cool gaming, comic and anime collection.

It's my pleasure.

LOL! He'd so get a kick out of that! That's the one thing about how this site was, and still is, and why it's still kicking around. When he was a regular here, TMA was one of the only unique sites on the internet to not only talk TM, but to write about it, dissect it, and also our infamous Brawl Wall. I'm not just saying that because I've been a member for so long, but because that's just how it was.

MK's fan fics were very cool to read. He did encourage me to try writing some of my own when I had some idea's and sure enough I wrote a few. When he was Commissioner, his way of writing humor of handing out belts influenced ALOT of how I went about writing my awards when I was honored to be Commissioner here for a few years. He also vouched for me to be one so, I owe him a lot being on this site. We all do really.

Sleep easy Tina to know your father was well loved here. To know he was about a half year older than me in passing chills me up.

He's in a better place now. Chucking peels at people who annoy him.

This community meant a lot to him for sure, the TMA stuff I found in his belongings was the most well kept and taken care of, honestly.

As someone that has a lot of great memories tied up in this community also, that is so sadly beautiful.

Wow, today ended up being a really sad day for me... First my girlfriend and I break up, now this...

I'm so sad to hear about this... I may not have known MonkeyKing personally, but I do know he did a lot for this site and without him, we probably wouldn't still have had a TMA... 45 is just too young...

Monkey King's passing is a huge loss. As great as he was to us, I can only imagine how well he treated his family. Though I never had any extended interaction with the man. I know his contributions kept this group alive during it's most important times.

Monkey King was one of the few people I've never heard a bad word about. No drama or negative interactions. His name was more associated with kindness and generosity.

Even as someone who loved this group. He was never under any obligation to do the things he did to help. Keeping our little clubhouse floating was something he chose to do. He never asked for a reward or anything special. Which even today in a world of crowd funding and kickstarting is a rarity.

Not that it's a terrible thing. But generally people do expect some kind of favor for helping. I can't remember Monkey King asking for anything. All he seemed to want was to keep this platform floating and for everyone to enjoy it.

Him being around was a huge deal. Most of us were jobless punks and nerds living with family. Dropping tiny donations by the way of goodboy points or minimum wage work. Without him the site could have died on the vine. Tons of friendships would have never happened. I know for a fact my sense of humor would have never developed as it did.

I still miss seeing his name pop up in Ask TMA. I'm not the type to live in the past. But if I could revisit anything. Asking him another question would be high on my list of things to do.

Though I doubt he'd ask for anything. If there is anything we can do to pay back his generosity over the years. I'd love to know. Thank you for informing us of his passing. I'm deeply sorry for your loss.

Thanks so much... It's been tough the past few weeks especially since I finally got his autopsy results back.
Dad was very troubled in his heart for a lot of his life but I'm so grateful for you all here and the memories he shared and to know just how generous and kind he was regarded as. This has been good for my own getting closure and saying goodbye.
Take care all, feel free to keep in contact x

...This just might be the first time I've really set foot in this part of the forum. I don't exactly know how to feel about that.

I haven't been here very long, especially not compared to anyone else who's posting here. As such, I never got the chance to really see anything MonkeyKing posted. I think I remember seeing the name once a few years ago when I went under a different name, but that's the extent of what I can remember.

Still, after reading all of what's in this thread, even a guy like me who's basically a wide-eyed kid in this place can see that the guy was a loved and respected member of this community, and the kind of person that people will miss going forward. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, and I while I can't really say much beyond that, I do wish you the best of luck in coming to terms with things.

Damn, that's pretty gutting to read. I've only spoken to him via the TMA chat we had sometime back. He was a pretty cool guy from what I got from the conversation. Don't remember if I ever played TM2PC with him.

Nevertheless, he will be missed. I always heard how important he was on here, his good character having no beef with anyone on TMA, and his detriment to keeping this place alive. Wish we spoke more.
