if you think about Twisted Metal's original concept, Calypso is sort of like an evil opposite of Santa. He works around the same time of the year as Santa. Santa rewards the good, while Calypso rewards the best driver. Some people are disappointed with their Christmas gift, while some Twisted Metal drivers are disappointed with their wish. Physically, Calypso and Santa are total opposites. Santa is fat, bearded, white haired. Calypso is skinny, no beard, red haired. Santa praises goodness and kindness, while Calypso praises destruction and cruelty. Santa chooses to live in the North Pole where few people live, and judges people from his flying reindeer chariot, whereas Calypso likes to live in a city skyscraper and enjoys overlooking a city in ruins from his Blimp. Santa likes bright red clothing, Calypso likes black. Both have helpers in their organizations. Each have magic powers. Each of them have businesses that do not make money, not that it seems to matter as they each seem to have unlimited resources. Each of them are also associated with someone with a red nose (Rudolph/SweetTooth's clown mask).
