My little brother and I are working on a Twisted Metal PC game, using BLENDER to animate the sprites and Unity 3D to program the game. Screenshots and video footage of the progressing game will be revealed later on; and when you see them, you'll be REALLY excited for it! Once the game is finished, the game will be released for Windows and Mac.

Looks like it'll be interesting. Any particular reason Needles is stranded on an island? Or is that just for test purposes? If I may critique, the idle animation could use some tweaks. Maybe something a bit more similar to PS All-Stars in terms of posture and the curving of his fingers, rather than having him standing perfectly straight. I know this is very early in development, so I know there will be more improvements, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

Since I made that TM:B skin for the model, would you like me to fix the belt on his pants? Looking at it here, it seems that I messed up up on the back, and the white may be too bright. Either that, or you could use my Head-On reskin if you would prefer (this one: http://varia31.deviantart.com/art/Sweet-Tooth-Head-On-Ver-XNALara-XPS-DOWNLOAD-6...). It's up to you though.

So what other things do you have in store? I'm assuming you will find a way to set his scalp ablaze, but I don't know what all you can do right now. Will there be functioning vehicles? Different weapons? What kinds of environments? I'd love to hear more!

My brother is working on the blazing scalp sprite, though it is very difficult to manage. But anyway, as for this setting, this is actually the first battleground we are working on. The Island map is the first in story mode, where every character's story begins when they are shipwrecked. The prison ship carrying them as patients for Blackfield Asylum when out of control after Calypso secretly sabotaged it, thus crashing upon this island. The prisoners figure it's every man for himself, so they steal the Twisted Metal vehicles that were kept in the ship's hull and use them in battle. Of course, there's the ability to jump in/out of the vehicles for some alternative attacks.

We have tested a couple of vehicles mainly for moving around, which we used Sweet Tooth and a whitewashed Crimson Fury (we don't have a color palette yet). We have not yet mounted any machine guns, nor have we developed any weapons. But that will come around soon. We're even close to producing the complete vehicle listing, with some models taken straight out of Twisted Metal: Head-On. But the fun part is when you unlock the four secret characters, which are not from the same franchise. No, they excite the players even more when revealed, which I will not do right now.

As for battlegrounds, we have a lot more in store for that. For most elements, you will recognize them from other games such as Devil May Cry, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy, and others. In fact, I'm too excited that I have a mind to throw in the Roman Ruins.

We'll have to see more of what comes around soon. Cheesy

Update: We've added a road to the island map, which leads out of the intro level and towards the first REAL battle. Plus, we're currently working on the script which will allow drivers to enter/exit their rightful vehicles.

My brother and I recently went over our official vehicle listing. We have not confirmed most of the drivers, but we will get to that soon. Notice that four of the following vehicles are locked, but for good reasons that you should never know until the future. Shocked

1. Roadkill
2. Mr. Grimm
3. Sweet Tooth
4. Spectre (locked)
5. Outlaw
6. Warthog (locked)
7. Axel (locked)
8. Mr. Slam (possibly)
9. Crimson Fury
10. Crazy 8
11. Yellow Jacket
12. Sly Cooper (locked)
13. Cousin Eddy (boss)
14. Minion (boss)
15. Dark Tooth (boss)

We'll update this list when we confirm all drivers.

Cool! Good selection. I'm assuming you're getting the vehicles from TM Black and/or TM Head-On?

Update: The main menu and loading screen are under construction. We still have a few scripts to clean up to make them fully operable.

Oh, cool! I forgot to ask, but are there any plans to release a demo once you get further along in the project? I don't mind if there isn't. I'm just curious.

It is a possibility that we will release a demo or beta of the game for players to get a first taste. You can tell us your opinions, whether it be out of excitement or telling us what errors there are.

Alright, cool. Just thought I'd ask.

So you said there will be the ability to jump out of the vehicles for alternate attacks. So is it going to be a fully functional ground combat? I'm curious about your ideas for this system.

We plan to combine the experience of car combat and on-foot combat. Players can jump out of their vehicles to either enter another one that is unoccupied, or escape the car that is very low on health. Or BOTH! Like I said, we have no weapons prepared yet. But we are getting closer to finishing the attack scripts.
