If there was a solo Sweet Tooth game...

So David Jaffe has entertained the idea of making a Sweet Tooth spinoff at some point in the future. If this came true, what kind of game would you like to see? Hack 'n' Slash? Psychological horror? Open world adventure like that of GTA? Who would you like to see develop the game (e.g. Platinum Games if you were going for Hack 'n' Slash)? How do you think Needles Kane should be portrayed? Significant inclusion of vehicle elements or no?

I personally wouldn't mind seeing a mixture. Have some good combat (both on-foot and in the Sweet Tooth truck), and some open world elements. Perhaps some participation in Twisted Metal, and some psychological horror elements. For the developer, I have no idea who I think would be best suited to do that. But I do know that I would want to see Needles Kane himself return to similar form to how he was in TMB: more of a cold and calculating serial killer with a dark sense of humor and remarkable physical abilities rather than a "raging monster" like the TMX version. Also, Hellfire Breath from PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. I want that to be made official!

Those are just a few, smaller ideas though. What kind of things would you all have in mind?

I have 2 approaches in mind -

1. I think an "Alien Isolation" psychological horror kind of game could maybe work - where you play as a character that SweetTooth is stalking - so the point of the game would be to survive SweetTooth, and he'd go after anybody in his way, and go after your character's loved ones too. If SweetTooth is going to continue as a horror character, he needs to be scary, so I think this is a good approach, because the game would be designed to make the gamer feel like SweetTooth's victim - rather than SweetTooth himself.

2. A SweetTooth simulator could work too, with a big map that ST can drive or walk around in. There should be hand to hand combat, weapons combat, stalk/stealth combat, vehicular combat, racing.... basically a game like Arkham Knight/Grand Theft Auto. As for what kind of story this game would have - I don't know - but it should explore his adventures outside of Twisted Metal (although I think a solo ST game should have some other TM characters involved in some capacity). Who exactly would be SweetTooth's big bad villain in a solo ST game though? The law? The Blackfield Asylum warden? Preacher? Cage (driver of Warthog and rival serial killer)?

Loving the idea of the Alien Isolation concept. That game was a masterpiece. Survival horror with Sweet Tooth would be very interesting.

That said, out of personal preference, I would love to play as Needles like we almost had with Harbor City. What's interesting is that in screenshots and concept art you can see that Needles was going to be wielding rifles and such. Like we can see in this screenshot here.

I was playing through the "Sweet Tour" trivia game last night and you know, it would have been really cool to go around as ST in Blackfield Asylum fighting enemies.

I also think some of the other interior locations in Harbor City were pretty fitting locations for ST to cause chaos in.

-a church:
...

-a strip club:
...

It didn't seem like Harbor City had any on-foot missions in open outdoor areas though, but more maze-like exterior locations like the parking lot in 'Sweet Tour'.
The issue I'd have with maze-like exterior locations is that it could get annoying. Either because of the Camera, or because you can get lost, and not back-track easily.

I think a SweetTooth 3D or side-scrolling Platformer could be interesting too. Instead of a big world map, just have a bunch of stages in different locations, full of enemies, traps, weapons, with SweetTooth alternating from on-foot to vehicular missions.

I had an idea for this. I like the idea of this being very psychological. Remember in TMB, how it's hinted that it all occurred in Tooth's mind? What if in a solo game, you play off of that idea? As in several things in game, occurring in Tooth's mind and making for a more reality warped type of game story wise. Like Maybe explore that crazy side of Sweet Tooth a bit more with possible hallucinations, and all that stuff.

I would imagine a Tooth game being similar to Silent Hill 2/3 in the aspect of it being fairly open world, suspenseful and focused on a more horror related ambiance. Just that the horror elements come from you, so it'd be more like a reverse Silent Hill. He'd have to go around finding weapons to kill opponents, crafting his own maybe. Making targets and hunting them down to kill them. Maybe even recruiting followers? Maybe elements of GTA in it with you being able to enter vehicles and wreck havoc. Maybe a bit of Dead By Daylight elements in it as well, to give you that feeling of being a true serial killer stalking his opponents and brutally killing them.

Story wise? Maybe it revolves around a similar story to TMPS3, where Tooth is hunting down a particular person who escaped him. Except his personality is more based on TMB in how he acts. OR He's hunting down the preacher that set his head ablaze? And the whole psychological aspect of his mind that I mentioned earlier can play into factors of the story which Sweet Tooth would have to deal with it, basically making his mind a sort of obstacle to overcome? Like it can warp the world around him, and make things become alot more disturbing than they actually are, to maybe show us how Sweet Tooth sees the world. Unredeemable, hopeless. Good for nothing but the one thing he's good at, death. Just spit balling here anyways.

That... sounds amazing. Now if only we could convince Jaffe or someone else to make this. lol

Lol, thank you! xD I honestly would really love a solo game, and have been hoping for one for a time.

I'm on board. They could make a very entertaining game using ST as a character. It'd be a perfect horror-themed game.
