Not including the more recent TR's. They're okay, but I've been playing some of the older games, particularly TR1, TR2, and TLR. These games were better IMO than the recent ones by Crystal Dynamics.

I only played TR2, the anniversary remake of the first for the PS2 and Last Revelation. Tomb Raider 2 was the one I played the most. It's the first one I played and I like the dark atmosphere of it. The stages and footsteps can be creepy.

Yeah, been playing through TLR and TR2 on my PS2. TR4 is pretty impressive for a PS1 title. However, I have a soft spot for 2. It was my first TR game I owned.

I could never finish Tomb Raider or Uncharted. The whole super rich treasure hunter murdering the shit out of people and animals theme made it hard to care about the story. Not a huge fan of the puzzles either. Outside of the fact the heroes are irredeemable assholes, the games just don't hold my interest.

Uncharted was pretty good. I played 1&2. The new TR games are decent, but different from the older ones from the 32-bit generation. Those were much better.

Tomb raider was great in my opinion. A lot of mystery.

Uncharted got boring for me only in the second level and I quit playing and never went back.

Nathen Drake is worse than Kratos. I need to steal this treasure that this other guy is also trying to steal! Better kill 1000's of hired security to get it first!

At least Lara Croft just shoots dogs and extremely rare exotic animals.

TR2 is in the lead. Has anyone ever actually played TRI, TRIII, or TRIV?

Well the first Tomb Raider was obviously important in establishing the brand and as is the case with most early Playstation One games, it left an impact on me as a gamer at the time as being something completely new and interesting that would become a staple in my life moving forward.

TR2 is perhaps my favorite if we are talking pure nostalgia. After that the series gets a bit blurry to me for a while with minor improvements to graphics and gameplay, but still not as revolutionary as the initial entries were, though still managing to keep the core ideas intact for fans.

The Last Revelation was when I started to feel the inherent downside that comes with the repetition of a yearly franchise and this was long before the now popular sequel brands like Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty ruled the market.

After that my love of Tomb Raider was casual at best as the series sort of struggled to find its place in an ever changing landscape being on any platform from the Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance to the Dreamcast, PS2 and PC.

It's around this time that we get the live action Tomb Raider movies starring Angelina Jolie which I must say for as bad as they may be by today's standards, were pretty awesome for their time. Jolie is a perfect representation of the 90's video game Lara Croft and to this day I will totally watch those movies for the cheesy films they are.

For me it wasn't until the Xbox 360 that I sort of rekindled my love for Lara Croft and Tomb Raider with Tomb Raider: Legend, (completely skipped Anniversary and to this day have no opinion on it) and then later Tomb Raider: Underworld, which I've been wanting to go back to lately just to see if it holds up as well as I remember.

From there we enter the new era of Lara Croft/Tomb Raider with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light which was a smaller isometric downloadable game but somehow really awesome in it's execution. This was later followed by Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris which I have yet to even play even though the four player co-op sounds great.

And finally we find ourselves with the Tomb Raider reboot series, the first of which is perhaps one of my favorite games of the last five years and probably ranks in my top 20 of all time. I own and have played the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot on at least three platforms. Even though the new direction of the series mostly mimics Uncharted now (another one of my favorite series EVER) which was in turn born from TR itself, the new take on the TR formula is damn near perfect.

Granted the "tomb raiding", puzzle solving aspects of the modern mainline triple A games are severely lacking in the complexity that some of the old games were, I don't really feel like the streamlined approach necessarily detracts from the overall purpose, quality, and foundation of what Tomb Raider is. If anything I think the new games are the perfect springboard for propelling Lara Croft and Tomb Raider into the future.

Hell, even Rise of the Tomb Raider (while I have mixed feelings on it) is perhaps the pinnacle of modern third person action adventure games...at least until Uncharted 4 comes out.

And to be quite frank I actually enjoyed Lara Croft GO on iPad which is something I never thought I'd say but god damn if it doesn't capitalize on that platform.

My love of Lara Croft expressed perfectly with my retro Lara action figure and my Rise of the Tomb Raider statue.

The reboot looks fun. I'll have to give em a spin when they go on discount. I like the idea of Tomb Raider. But the execution always disappointed me. Still a hellova lot better than Uncharted though.

I think my experience with the first games was a bit tarnished because Nintendo and Capcom were doing 3D puzzles and action way better than the old Tomb Raider games were. Also the combat in the PS1 Tomb Raider games was atrocious. Granted they weren't working with much at the time. But Resident Evil handled puzzles, combat, and exploration way better in my opinion.

Also I could empathize with Chris and Jill better because they weren't rich philanthropists invading ancient tombs to shoot wild dogs and steal shit. I kept asking my self "Why the hell do you need to raid the Tomb Lara?".

Hey why did she raid Tombs in the PS1 games? As far as I can gather it was just because she liked collecting shit and had no issues killing 100's of animals and tribes people to get shiny stuff.
