Oh yes, Head-On is pretty good. It's actually one of my favorite TMs. In fact, I think my top 3 favorites would have to be:
1. TM Black
2. TM PS3
3. TM Head-On Extra Twisted Edition
So anyway, if you have a PS2, by all means try out Head-On "Extra Twisted Edition!" It has a lot of neat bonus content and it's a fun game. The bonus content is cool because you have "Sweet Tour" which allows you to run around on foot as Needles Kane outside of his Sweet Tooth truck and explore as well as pick up neat little factoids.
You also get a few levels from the cancelled
Twisted Metal: Harbor City, and in fact the Sweet Tour's on-foot sections were going to be a part of Harbor City. And lastly, you also get the unused video endings for the first Twisted Metal for PS1, as well as a neat featurette with the Twisted team talking about the game series and how it's changed over the years.
The only real "defects" I can think of is that (1, Head-On is honestly too easy compared to the other games. If you want it to be a little more challenging, set it to Hard difficulty and avoid grabbing any vehicle upgrades that defeated enemies drop. And (2, the game has a few technical bugs since it's a port of a game originally made for the PSP. For example, the character "Cousin Eddie" is meant to speak at one point, but instead you just get silence.
So it's mainly little things like that, but if you can get past those, you've got yourself a solid Twisted Metal game.
