First off, twisted metal has been one of my favorite games since I first played twisted metal 2 for ps1... But that's not why I'm here. I'm here because like the twisted metal servers the socom 2 servers were shut down leaving us to use xlink and LAN to play our beloved game. Socom 2 has been well exploited and I'm interested in reviving a server for it as well. We already having a full online memory dump which should make it easier but its just as challenging as the server you revived. I'm looking for tips, from the guys who rebuilt the new tmbo server and would gracefully accept any help in reviving our server.
I can tell you that rebuilding the Socom 2 servers will be a giant challenge, especially with the original packet captures being encrypted and essentially worthless.

We'll find a way if that's the case
That's a DNAS game validation bypass code. Packet encryption is a whole other ballgame.

Anyway...
I should note that it took a good year and a half to get the TMBO server to the point it's at now, and we actually had packet captures (the team is still dealing with some serious server issues too). Imagine how long it will take to get Socom I/II working given there are technically no usable packet captures and the game(s) have encrypted traffic.
It's not Socom II, but it's a start:
