If you say my name enough times, I will show up. XIZORJUICE, XIZORJUICE, XIZORJUICE!

There has been a great awakening in the force. Can you feel it? Its time for the hero of TMA to return. My fans have clearly spoken. I've seen the online petitions, begging me to return TMA and Brawl to its former glory and I'm here to tell you my loyal fans, that YES WE CAN!

I've enjoyed reading people's interpretations on the history/downfall of TMA, and how I am a motherfucking god damn legend. I've only returned to sign autographs and confirm that the legends are true. I think Magnum said it best:

"The TMA, The Moderators, The Legend Posters........it's all true. All of it."

There is really only one person in this thread who truly remembers the history of TMA though, Devilbeast:

"I remember XIZOR too and he used to make me laugh a lot"

"but I was glad I was able to find this small place when I fucking laughed my ass off. Mostly with XIZOR and Magnum."

You want to know why this community died? Because I fucking left and took all the best people with me. I was the fucking foundation, the core, the alpha and omega.

Adonael - "XIZOR didn't leave over a game."

No I didn't. Most people don't realize that the fall of TMA was actually a war on two fronts. There was the war over whether or not TMX was a good game, which I didn't really take much of a part in. I knew two weeks in after launch that that game was a shit show and didn't really need to express my opinions about it when so many others with better things to say were already doing so. My stance was always that hey, if people like that steaming pile of shit, let them play it, I'll go play games that actually function and are good. It is funny seeing people still arguing over TMX in this thread.

Then there was the war between me and Hellbent and the Brawl crowd about how this site and community should be run and handled. Sometimes both of those things overlapped, but history and some time away has shown that I was right about my stance on both of those things.

1) TMX was a terrible game.

2) Hellbent was a giant piece of shit who was ruining the whole site and that the core of what makes TMA such a cool internet destination transcends Twisted Metal and is in fact the awesome people who have posted over the years. A fact that my absence further proves every day I don't post here and grace you lot with my knowledge, sage life advice, and humor.

Mecit - "I think pinning everything on Hellbent for what happened to TMA is unfair. Were I to make a list of people who fucked up TMA, I would've definitely included Xizor, P7 and Kilrgrn, as well."

Hey fuck you buddy! I was always pretty upfront about being an asshole here, though mostly just for comedic effect to make people laugh, but I will never apologize for the asshole I became when it was clear Hellbent had to be stopped. Sometimes, to destroy the most hellish evil imaginable you have to become evil yourself.

The thing that most people don't understand is that Hellbent used to be a pretty fucking rad dude but somewhere along the way he just became a hateful, self serving fuckwad who went out of his way to piss off everyone. Even he admits that now:

Hellbent - "I'd blame the drugs. But to be honest I was just a hateful person."

It was made clear from people like Mortimer himself that TMA should just be about Twisted Metal, which is fine I suppose, but as I said above, that isn't what kept most of us around years after and in between TM releases and it became clear that that crowd wasn't necessarily wanted here so we just up and left to do our own thing.

At this point though I don't think anyone really cares about all the past drama though it is funny seeing noob posters and lurkers talking about it in this thread. It was all pretty fucking hilarious in hind sight and honestly pretty fun when it was all going down, but I think we've all had enough time away that we could maybe give this another shot....I don't know. Of course, that's all predicated on whether Thrillho, aka Hellbent, aka my arch nemesis, is still a giant piece of shit or not.

Also shout outs to Adonael for keeping the dream alive while I've been away. This dude has been posting pointlessly on Brawl for years now. He reminds me of me when I was younger. Keep doing what you're doing bro.

I'll have to get you on the show someday Xizor. My current set of friends never fight me on anything. They just laugh when I insult them. If I had to guess, I wager the two people who had legitimate hatred for what i did were Roadie and Kilrgrn. With you there was an unspoken understanding that at the end of the day neither of us were losing sleep over opinions on the internet.

No matter how often I called Halo a casual game for babies. I don't think it ever stopped you from enjoying it. In this current age of third wave feminism and twitter PTSD. The ability to just fucking take a critique and fire back without it causing tangible mental distress is sadly rare.

I think what really spurred me was the lack of creativity going on at the time. Not that it's wrong to just talk about entertainment you consume. But after a certain point it just becomes the same septic swill you find everywhere online. People bitching and fighting over someone not liking what they do. Forming little cliques and circle jerking. Compared to old TMA it had all the flare and appeal of a private facebook page.

I remember way back when this site looked a little different, people tried to make funny posts and brought up interesting topics. But after a certain point people just gave up and hovered around the media posts.

I always found it funny that people cared a whole lot more about what others dislike. So playing contrarian was a fun surrogate for organized brawling. But even that got old pretty quick and the site was already on it's last legs thanks to the rise of social media and Sony's odd desire to make playing Twisted Metal online a huge fucking ordeal.

Who knows BOTW could see a revival. But I'd place those odds about as high as Sony re releasing TMBO and actually maintaining the tracker. Or a Halo game coming out with less aiming magnetism than the previous title.

Woah, wait, what?

Xizor's is back? Wonder if there will be enough space to fit all this ego around here. At least shit is about "to get real" Herp derp nerf

You God Damn right I said it best. Next damn thing I know, Artoo turns back on, some fucking map gets completed and some shit pops off.

I'll be over here taking a light saber to the chest. After everything I've been through, that'd probably be the easiest thing I've done over the last dozen years.

It seems to me that if you weren't liking what TMA was becoming, leaving would be a much more sensible decision than trying to ruin it for everybody else. I think it became abundantly clear to everyone, yourself included, that you were the only one appreciating the way you were behaving at the end, and to double down on that at that point was a dick move, to be honest.

It would be super duper awesome if we could all get along now that time has passed, but don't try to defend what you did, let's all just move on, you know? Fresh start. If it doesn't work out, you don't have to stick around - it sounds like time away has been a blessing for you anyway considering all the stuff you've been doing since.

Like one big, disfunctional family, at it again.

And I agree, Hellbent, if you simply just decided to take a year off from posting instead of dragging everyone and everything down at the time, I don't think most of the veterans would have left.  Time has passed though, as it seems like you have a little bit more sense when it comes to these things, so we'll see where it all goes from here.

As for TMX, and my views, I felt that the game was a very watered down version of the TM we all knew and love.  It wasn't TM2, it wasn't Black, it wasn't Head On, it was somehow more cookie cutter than that.  I also believe the easy aiming was to bring in new blood, and the balance and quality testing was SEVERELY lacking...which ultimately made the game fall flat on its face.

I enjoyed the game, for a few weeks.  After a month, and getting all of the single player trophies, there really wasn't much need for me to grind the multiplayer trophies because it seemed like every match was exactly the same due to the lack of overall weapon depth and maneuverable tactics. And when TMA started moving away from it entirely, there was no way or need to gathering up enough people for a private match, if we could even connect at all...

I just wish they would give TM / Warhawk back to Lightbox Interactive, the creators of Starhawk and Warhawk PS3. They were easily the best developers on the engine, and knew how to balance air and ground fighting almost to a perfect art. Warhawk PS3 still ranks as my best online gameplay experience on the last gen consoles.  There was just so much magic in that game that Eat Sleep Play missed out on trying to make it easy for everyone to get kills. Warhawk was a ridiculously well rounded, diverse game with 5-6 game modes, 4-5 player variations, and 2-9 weapons per variation.  Twisted Metal PS3 had a nice diverse cast of characters/cars, but the weapons were very basic and simplified for easier comprehension and ease of use.

In the end, Warhawk still felt fresh and new after 500 hours of gameplay, and the DLC added jetpacks, ATVs, Motherships, and tons more.  Twisted Metal was basically 5-8 weapons with different UI/graphics attached to make them LOOK different.  However, they felt and functioned the exact same way.  The more depth you have in your game, the longer the online multiplayer lasts.  Warhawk PS3 came out in 2007 and still has tons of servers available today. TM and Starhawk (the Warhawk successor that was dumbed down like TMPS3) both came out in 2012 and both of their online servers are barren.  There is something to be learned here and I hope Sony does learn the lesson when they decide to revisit the franchise...in 2020 probably on PS5 or Morpheus.

I played warhawk for a few years myself. I love that game, though I doubt I could hold my own. The severs are still up?

Good point. I'm not trying to validate what I did by any means. Just giving insight into my reasoning for it at the time. Kind of like how a person who starts a fist fight has a reason for it. But can't validate a fist fight as a sane way to solve a social issue. When you aren't happy with a community 99% of the time the only proper thing to do is give it a break or leave entirely. Burning bridges and agitating people isn't a solution. It's just lashing out for personal satisfaction.

That is a common problem I see on the internet. Most people aren't content to disagree or even accept being wrong. They'll sooner cling to a false belief and do everything they can to validate it rather than admit fault and change themselves. If people could accept fault, including me, online discussion would be a lot more productive and interesting.

So I'll start right now and admit I was wrong to try and agitate people. At the time I thought it was fun. But it made people here miserable and it was a really dumb solution to a personal problem. No one here was responsible for my entertainment. Just because I didn't like the direction the community was taking didn't mean it was being ruined.

Fact is I was the one who needed to change. Pointing out ones flaws does not make yourself a better person. Nor is it an excuse to be a dick. If we are going to discuss old drama I'd rather do it from an honest angle instead of trying to prove anything. I'm not here to stir shit and get validation.

If I were to turn back the clock. I'd probably just attempt to make more entertaining posts and forget the ongoing drama. Pushing peoples buttons isn't a logical solution for the problems I had. It only made things worse for everyone.

I'm just poking my head around out of nostalgia. It's nice to catch up with you people after all this time.
