DISCLAIMER: Please take note of the fact that this character is intentionally made to be a little bit cheap, but not overly so. He’s intended for the pure fun and ease of use, and for messing around with other characters. So if you see attacks, movements, etc. that seem to be a bit too strong, they are intended to be that way (and yes, that includes standing attacks that hit low), and I’ve no plans of making changes unless there is some kind of major problem that needs patched.



He’s here, boys and girls! At long last, Sweet Tooth (Needles Kane) from Twisted Metal is now finished for Mugen! A ton of time and work went into this project, so please download, play, and most importantly, have fun!

As a gift, I am providing a combo pack that comes with Sweet Tooth, along with all of the resources I used to make him. MOVESET

Legend
(LP = Light Punch) (MP = Medium Punch) (HP = Heavy Punch)
(LK = Light Kick) (MP = Medium Kick) (HK= Heavy Kick)

Example for key setups
(LP = x) (MP = y) (HP = z)
(LK = a) (MK = b) (HK = c)

[Basic standing moves]
Punches
-LP = Quick Jab (press again after the first punch hits for a second follow-up hit)
-MP = Shove (press when up close to the enemy for a powerful Rib Crusher)
-HP = Machete Massacre (press again after the first slice makes contact to execute a second hit)

Kicks
-LK = Clown Kick
-MK = Disgraceful Kick
-HK = Chainsaw Flurry (when the move finishes, Needles will discard the chainsaw; is a projectile)

[Basic crouching moves]
Punches
-LP = Crouching Chop
-MP = Uppercut (this move sets up good lead-ins for aerial combos)
-HP = Machete Poke (no combo-ability. Mainly useful for small characters, and to safely space enemies)

Kicks
-LK = Crouching Clown Kick (can hit downed enemies)
-MK = Ankle Breaker/Ground Stomp (slow start-up, but powerful. Can down, and hurt downed enemies)
-HK = Trip/Explosive Present ("Trip" is only active when you have less than 500 super meter)

[Basic Aerial Attacks]
Punches
-LP = Aerial Quick Punch
-MP = Aerial Overhand Slam
-HP = Aerial Machete Swipe

Kicks
-LK = Aerial Clown Kick
-MK = Chainsaw Copter (carries player upwards slightly. Excellent for aerial combos)
-HK = Aerial Stomp

[Special Moves - Ground]

-Down, Back, MP = Initiate Clown's Edge Combo (press "MP" again after hitting, then finish with "HP")
-Down, Forward, MP = Shotgun Blast!
-Down, Forward, HP = Go for a spin!
-Down, Back, HP = Criss Cross Combo
-Back, Forward, HP = "Don't play with sharp objects!" (aka Machete Throw)
-Down, Forward, MK = Scalp Flamethrower
-Down, Back, MK = "Who wants a treat?"
-Down, Back, LP = Fire Missile!
-Down, Back, LK = Freeze Missile!
-Down, Forward, LK = SMG Spray'n'Pray
-LP while running = Dashing Grab
-HK while running = Dashing Clown Kick
-HP+LK = Shield Dash (can cancel into Dashing Clown Kick by pressing "HK")
-LP+MP while guarding at long range = "Cut it out!" Ranged counter attack
-LK+MK while guarding at close range = "This is my curse!" Counter attack grab
-HK while crouch guarding = quick trip counter

[Special Moves - Air]

-Back, Forward, HP = Air knife
-Down (hold), HK = Aerial Slam Down

[Hypers]

Level 1
-Down, Foward, LP+MP = TNT Tag
-Down, Forward, LP+LK = "Satisfy your Sweet Tooth!" (note: is only usable at 500 health or below)
-Down, Forward, LK+MK = Mega Gun Barrage

Level 2
-Down, Back, LP+MP = Taste the Tooth! (note: is disabled during team play)
-Down, Back, MP+HP = "Fear the Reaper!" (note: is disabled during team play)

Level 3
-Down, Forward, MP+HP = "A butcher like me..." (note: is disabled during team play)
-Down, Back, LP+LK = "Welcome to Twisted Metal" (note: can only be used up-close; diabled for team play)

[Taunts]
-Start (or "Enter" key) = Taunt
-Down+Start = Dancing Taunt

I coded it. I just made it really spammy and counter-happy to give the impression he's brutal. I never coded an AI before. Hope you like him!

How tough was he? I know he sometimes is on and off about how intense he is, but I haven't gotten to fight him myself since release. My Mugen screen pack doesn't support 1v1 with an AI.

Hope you find some good techniques and combos! Do you like him so far?

He's stronger than the beta AI. I do like the many projectiles and moves he has. I think I kill my roster with him.

Cool, good to hear. Smiley Have fun with him! I saw that you put up a video earlier, and I commented, but you can ignore it. I'm excited about this release, so I'm eagerly looking back and forth to see what people think of him. lol

EDIT
I updated the download links for Sweet Tooth. There was a problem that I patched, so for those that already downloaded him, I recommend re-downloading if you want the fixed version. The problem was that one of his intros was playing the wrong animation due to me overlooking a line of code.

I'm keeping the beta version on my Windows 7 starter, because the full version crashes the computer when he is selected. But I still play the full version on my Mac (I use WINE to run Windows programs on a Mac), and it works GREAT!

I LOVE watching Sweet Tooth go up against Popeye! They are both equal in strength and skill, but there is always a winner in the end. And there's chaos galore when there's two Popeyes fighting two Sweet Tooths.

When I return, I'll record a battle and show you.

"WINE"? Never heard of it. I may have to look into that since I mainly use a Mac.

All the characters that I play in mugen has 1111 health and 110 defense. 1000 health and 100 defense is the default number and I realized how bad it is when I first used this character against Golden Miku on May 2015.

My point is I have given Sweet Tooth the same 1111 health and 110 defense. Those stats seems to be the right amount to fight broken characters. It's not too big and not too small. Broken characters can still beat me if the match is going their way.

So because Golden Miku's supers do too much damage and she has a lot of chip damage that buffing your characters' health and defense is one of the best ways to counter it? Wow, now that's cheap.

I designed Sweet Tooth to have a bit of a cheap flair to him, but not to the point where he's blatantly overpowered or broken as I still wanted him to just be a solid character overall. Golden Miku sounds pretty bad, though. I don't think I've actually dealt with Golden Miku, but I have dealt with Dark Miku I think. That sounds pretty bad if you're having to do that.

Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Miku was annoying to fight to begin with when she was normal.

So it looks like you're really getting the hang of Sweet Tooth, judging by your videos. You having fun? Smiley
Making something fun was my ultimate goal.

Yeah he is fun. He has a learning curve of memorizing all the moves. Once you got them down he can be a beast. I'm going to buy a PlayStation USB adapter that lets me use a real PlayStation controller. The D-pad on my USB PlayStation controller is too rough and bad for fighting games.
