My plans haven't changed since my last post. I won't commit to a specific date, but it should be before the end of January if things work out.

Let's be patient...

I'm guessing the code will be revealed when February rolls around.

Unfortunately the release will come later than I had originally hoped for Sad. But rest assured that I'm still actively working on it Smiley.

For discoveries of this sort, I usually spend a while researching/testing/preparing, then post a big release thread out of the blue. In this case, since I had denied the level existed in reply #8, I wanted to clear things up as soon as I realized I was mistaken. So I revealed the level prematurely.

I have a prototype of a City of the Dead unlock code kicking around, but I'm not satisfied with where it's at yet. It injects a "hollow" entry for City of the Dead into level select. Doesn't look pretty, but it works. However... earlier today I noticed that the code is breaking unrelated menus, so I'll need to refine it or go back to the drawing board. If I released what I had now and called it a day, that code would likely spread beyond the TMA forums and potentially overshadow a future fixed version. That would really suck, so I want to ensure the first release of the code is something I'm satisfied with.

Apart from the code itself, I'm also dealing with extensively testing it, creating an overview video and writing up a thread. Those take time...

So, when will it come out now? Rather than setting another ETA I may not be able to meet, I'm just going to go with "when it's ready". Not interested in doing a crappy/rushed release.

Good news! I just recently used the handy MFAudio application on my computer, and I was able to find the music track for CotD. It's a speedy version of the Junkyard battle theme from TMB. I was able to play the VAG file with that special program.

I wish I could convert it into a WAV track, but I don't know how to do that on this program. Angry

Okay, never mind what I said earlier. I have the track right here now:

Later on I found a hack that disables all forms of collision detection, but it's way too powerful. It makes it possible to go through both walls and ground, so utilizing that hack will make your car endlessly fall under levels and teleport until it runs out of health and dies. I thought I could maybe counteract it with anti-gravity hacks, but disabling gravity in TMHOETE doesn't work like TMB - you have no control of your car in mid-air. Coming up with a specialized-enough hack that only disables collision detection on walls is probably possible, but would be like finding a needle in a haystack since TMHOETE's ELF file lacks debug symbols (e.g. function/variable names). There are a few more things I haven't tried yet, but drive through wall hacks are on the backburner for me now.

Actually, Aced14, I would not mind having the code to drive through walls and floors at all. I can at least do the invincibility cheat over and over again to keep myself alive. Just as long as I'm still looking around. Wink

I was contemplating including those codes while writing that old post, but decided against it because they're completely unusable in practice. I don't mind sharing them, though Smiley. Just don't get your hopes up Tongue.

Drive through cars (drive into enemy cars at a moderate/fast speed to go through them; light bumps and ram damage will still occur)
201316CC 00000000
20131F70 00000000

Disable all collision detection (if you enable this, your car will spawn in, fall underground, then endlessly repeat that process until it dies; I confirmed it goes through walls by testing within PCSX2 save states)
2022AC74 00000000

Disable in-air car gravity (CAR_DYN_GRAVITY_IN_AIR) (jump or drive up/down any ramps - your car will endlessly float in that direction until it gets stuck in level boundary walls; often gives a nice top-down view of levels)
202F296C 00000000

PS: I haven't forgotten about City of the Dead. It's still on my radar. Sorry for the wait Sad. I'd rather not discuss it further until after I've posted a proper release thread.

Ah, so I see the command is 2 for high action. I tried that myself for hacking certain levels; it allowed zero opponents to be chosen, but I wasn't able to play it because SOMEBODY had to be picked as a rival.

Yeah, I don't want to spend all day trying to get the CotD myself. I guess I'm not that smart at coding as I thought.

I tested some other codes out as I searched through PS2Dis. I managed to get a code that allowed me to drive straight through walls while driving on only certain portions of the ground. And when I'm not careful as to where the weak spots are, I fall right through them.

I'm still trying the codes out in the order that I see them. The results are getting better as I experiment them. Cool

Well, guys, after spending all of February and March searching for a proper drive-through-walls code, I don't have a perfect one. Although, I did find SOME certain codes that you might want to try out.

This here code allows you to drive through only CERTAIN walls, but you will have to be careful and look out for weak spots on the floor. You will easily fall through the floor if you are not careful. In order to enter the untouchable areas, you will have to JAM your way in; you can turn your car in all directions while shoving yourself in, or you can BLAST your way in by using a remote bomb on yourself. Just make sure you have the invincibility code on before you do so. This code mostly works on the Stadium Slaughter level, and you'll be able to explore the freeways until you fall through the floor. The freeways were left unfinished, so they basically lead to NOWHERE!
Action Replay MAX code:
46MZ-RT1Q-P1WMN
D1HF-9WBB-0GMZB

This next code is similar to the one above, except you start off planted on the ground. YOU CANNOT MOVE AT ALL! You will have to take damage in order to start floating in the forward direction (you can still turn and change course though). I suggest you only play as Darkside so you can speed-ram your way through walls and climb up hills. I did that at Suburban Terror and managed to get onto the freeway. However, like Stadium Slaughter, it's just an addition; one direction leads you to a closed tunnel, and the other way leads you to the edge of the world.
Action Replay MAX code:
EPCV-59RU-F40P2
JCZC-ZUXA-7EW2D

This one here causes you to fly off the ground and fall back down. This process happens over and over again, and, with your luck, you end up landing onto the untouchable areas. This would just be used for fun.
Action Replay MAX code:
W99W-9T0D-UXVJ7
R1AM-AHEK-E60PU

This last one I have makes your vehicle fly right off the terrain. In some certain battlegrounds, you take a while to land back onto the ground. But in most places, you don't fall back down at all.
Action Replay MAX code:
VTUT-RUUQ-C5DUT
1QE2-56D6-J5HP1

That is all I can give you. If you have Omniconvert, you can convert these codes to the proper cheat device you have. I hope you enjoy them!

Man, it's been half a year since we discovered that fifth lost level. I've forgotten all about it until now.

I thought to myself: "If David Jaffe didn't even want a proper unlock code to be put to this game, then we should let it be. The only way we can play is though GameShark, simply adding it to the level selection screen (like what we did with the Mini Junkyard in TMB). Unless... maybe that particular fashion is what Aced14 is working on right now."

Phew! I've already planned a lot of things for this summer. I'll be graduating by the end of the month, so I'll have time to reveal some 3D models of vehicles, battlegrounds, etc.

My pal and I have been discussing this since last year. After watching the beta of the original Harbor City, we've been pretty sickened that we have a lame excuse of a sequel to a great game.
