PS Plus For Sept - Twisted Metal 2012

Way, way, way back I sold Twisted Metal 2012 for $40. I planned on rebuying it someday when the price dropped far enough that it felt like it was time to jump again.  The lowest I saw it was last year on Black Friday when it went all the way down to $7.00 .  .  . I ALMOST jumped then, but it just wasn't quite low enough.

However, now it's finally dropped down to a price I just can't refuse .  .  . it's FREE.

That's right, if you have a PS Plus subscription one of September's free games is Twisted Metal 2012, and the best part about this deal is that this time the bugs won't cost you.  For as long as you have a PS Plus subscription you can play the game.  If it ever expires all you have to do is reup for another year and TM: 2012 will again be available.

This is probably the best deal you're ever going to get on TM:2012.  If you haven't jumped yet it's probably time to.  Besides, each month TONS of awesome games come out on PS:Plus.  Fifty bucks is a steal.

Who knows, maybe I'll see you online in Diesel City.

If it will connect this time.

You might wanna play the single player before going online to get a feel of how the game works. You're not going to have killstreak already unlocked online if you haven't already, which is unfair for anyone new to the game. Driving backwards while shooting helps prevent you from getting rammed. The rocket sidearm is the best sidearm in the game because it deals 15 damage and the rockets are homing. It takes 9 seconds to reload but it's not a big deal.

I also advise a backup of your PS3 HDD before attempting to run TM 2012. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I remember reading about the game breaking people's PS3. It didn't happen to me though, probably because I have the one with no PS2 backwards compatibility. Does it depends on what PS3 you have? I'm assuming it will happen to the old PS3. Did it erase everything in the hard drive?

It happened to me a few times with my old launch 60GB BC PS3.

I do remember reading at gamefaqs about people that had the same problem with the newer slim PS3, so I dunno if it's an issue that is limited to the older BC PS3 console.

For anyone not subscribed to PS Plus, this is a great week to sign up with TM 2012 being free. I've been subscribed for it for quite a while, and it's an awesome value.

PS Plus comes with cloud backup for game saves, so as long as you have it enabled, you should be fine. I've only ever heard of the game having issues on 60GB PS3s, and I'm not sure if the digital version has the same issue as the disc version, but better safe than sorry of course.
