Have you played Dead in the Water for PS1?

I'm currently playing it and it's actually a very good Twisted Metal clone. The only bad thing is the controls. You can't customize them and they are strange.

The game overall is very fun. The battle mode is exactly like Twsited Metal and the specials are actually quite fun to use. You have normal weapons such as missiles, homing missiles, mines, granades, water waves, shield, invisibility(disappears even from the enemy radar), flamethrower, etc.
There is also 4 player system link mode on two consoles.

One of the boats special is a missile that turns you into a chicken for a period of time and all you fire is eggs Grin

p.s. Hey Luis, can you post a video of the game if you ever try it?

I never played the game before. I just now used my remaining $6 on the game and downloading it from PSN to see how it is. Critical Depth is underwater while this one is on the surface of the water. I consider Critical Depth also being a airplane sky fight, because swimming is like flying. You can fly/swim up and down.

Oh my gosh screw that final boss. Angry I beat it but damn. They expect me to take down two bars of his health while five of those low health drones are attacking me? And with no health pickups either? Is there really no healths or a shield in the boss stage? I know you can buy two shields before you start the stage, but two shields is not enough to not make this fight a "spam all of your weapons fast before he kills you and hope they land'' fight. Is there another health in Hong Kong? Waiting for one health to regenerate can be annoying.

I found the health and the shield in the final boss stage. There are rocks that you can break with missiles and grenades. I found three healths. I didn't know there's a health in the center of the stage in a narrow path. The fight is easier now. Go for the drones first and the boss last.

I made a video. The video lags in third stage. I think it's because I had my Laptop on for too long. I have restarted it. I don't like how you fight the same three boats on every stage. I know the game is based on beating the other opponent's points and have the highest one at the end of a season, but that should stayed in the racing mode. I want random enemies on every stage.

Yes I have.

This game was not too bad.

I only rented it for a few days almost twenty years ago.
