Where's Twisted Metal for the PS4, David???

So, i've been thinking about the decision from David about coming out with the random game announced at the PlayStation Experience-Drawn to Death. It does not make any sense to me as to why he chose to do this and not give us any new Twisted Metal news. I would understand if he would have come up with a bigger game announcement but Drawn to Death shown instead  really left no impressions on anyone as far as i've seen. That leaves me to wonder whether he is even planning to bring a new Twisted Metal which i absolutely adore to the PS4.

I rather have developer support come back to TMPS3 because I'm still enjoying that game but it has a lot of problems. And besides the fact that I will need to buy a PS4 sucks because I don't even want it. I brought the PS3 for TM and I did played other games too.

I do not think you will see a TM for a while and if we do it'll be probably a smaller game developed by a new team.

TMX wasn't a massive seller and Jaffe and his new team wanted to move onto new projects.

Well, I think sometimes the problem with Sony is that they don't advertise their own games. Twisted Metal for the PS3 had practically zero advertisements going for it except for that one big show on E3 before it got released where they brought Marcus together with Sweet Tooth and everything on stage. After that no one but fans knew about the game. And even though they could still make a better TM game on the PS3 than the 1st one for the system having one for the next gen system seems like a no brainer specially these times where games variety are lacking.

Yeah, looking at Jaffe's history I don't think he likes being involved in big projects but he really needs to get a pair and break out of that shell. I mean he is a loyal Sony team player and it just doesn't make any sense if they-Sony and Jaffe's team(they are always changing studio names)-ignore his fans clearly due to laziness. The way Twisted Metal ends on the PS3 in some of the ending movies makes the idea of "moving on to new projects" look like a whole lot of douchery-ism from them.
How can you make a game and have it end with so many wide open doors to other installments? Like for example:****Spoiler Alert****I believe it was Marcus' daughter that dies and is resurrected as a new Sweet Tooth and there's a message stating that Sweet Tooth will be back. I forgot the details but i'm sure you know what i'm taking about.

I believe he was let down specifically by members of the site. Which sounds absurd, that a dev would give a rat's arse, but apparently there was a unique relationship there. Fan sites today are common if not guaranteed, but 10-15 years ago it was a testament to fan's dedication. You can tell he was particularly upset with the disapproval of TMPS3. Not just because he actually said so, but other proof is in the pudding. For example he sent Generalchaz a personal thank you video for Chaz's appreciation letter. There were other factors too, on Sony's behalf. In fact the problems started with Sony, TMA disapproval was the...nail. The game spent way too much time in development. Adding even more to Dave's frustration. I am a little confused as to why ESP didn't heed any suggestions given by vets. Maybe the slander was just too much? I mean, I'm sure suggestions came before slander? There's a lot I still don't know. I do know the feeling when spending countless hours on a video thinking it's the next best thing, only to find out it isn't, but that doesn't mean I quit and will never make videos again.

Wait, what? I haven't been here in quite a long time and noticed than Mortimer is not here. What happened? Are there any articles I can read up about these members of the site who let down Jaffe bit? I'm quite curious now.

There was a thread that had all the posts that made Jaffe mad and had a lot of complains about TMPS3 but it was deleted. It was sticky too. I forgot the name of that thread. Mortimer comes once in a blue since this place is dead.

It wasn't anyone specifically.  At the time I was lurking and just remember a lot of bad things being said about the game every time I looked. My screen name before this one was ohmygod.

If dave was so close and concerned of how TMA would react, then why not include them and their feedback? Idk.

I just read my previous post and realized it looks/could look a bit trollish but that wasn't my intention. I go over my posts to check for grammar and spelling but I never scan it to see if what I said could be interpreted in another way.

Well, damn. That's sad to hear. Why would Jaffe let this get to him when there was nothing to complain about except for freezing and minor issues as far as i'm concerned. I played the shit out of the game and loved the shit out of it even more. Jaffe is a smart man and I hope he sticks to what he loves which i'm pretty sure one of them has to be Sweet Tooth and keep on making us happy. He pretty much is the king of the genre so, wow, I would fucking hate to see him walk away.

Fuck the PS4 Twisted Metal. Where is all our game fixes? Normal games would be dead by now but loyal fans for Twisted Metal still manage to play this buggy mess because it's fun as hell if there is no issues.

TM for PS4 isn't going to happen I fear and think it may be a dead IP. I really like the concept for what Jaffe is doing with Drawn to Death. Yeah arena shooters are plenty but his concept is at least very very original and provides for a lot of creative freedom. I think Jaffe for now and maybe forever is done with TM. I suspect he will move onto another original IP or do a sequel to Drawn to Death if its successful.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a new team take on TM. Even though in my perfect world Jaffe would be cranking out TM sequels fairly regularly between original IP's. But having a new team take the car combat concept and the TM world wouldn't be a bad thing. Make it a small 20$ downloadable online game with a TM2 like art style. Good car combat game play with some layers of depth to it.

I loved TMPS3 and I think it could have enjoyed a robust community for years had they fixed the creativity issues and balanced the game. But TMPS3 was at times too ambitious with the concepts and while a lot of them worked that kind of ambition needs a lot of balancing to it to iron out the exploits.
