I dug this December 18th, 1998, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newsprint up online while doing a little research on Rogue Trip...

It turns out that 3 months after the game was released, SingleTrac and GT Interactive went through some nasty lawsuit claims from Oscar Meyer due to their taking offense to the suggestive nature of a certain sausage-shaped vehicle with "Dicks Dogs" plastered on the sides.. Grin

(LOL) It still remains a mystery as to how this all wrapped up, but I'd take a guess that this certainly didn't help RT's popularity.

I had always wondered if the development team of RT ever came up on any likeness issues with OM, but figured that since the game was so underrated that it wasn't worthy of taking any sort of legal action against SingleTrac or GT.

In fact I would say that publicity like this (if it had been less obscure) would have HELPED sales of the game since any controversy always seems to help the sale of games. Carmageddon comes to mind.

Oscar Meyer likely benefitted from this.
