I thought the Talon+sniper rifle was a devilishly cheap tactic. I don't take pride in tmx bashing. Just trying to be helpful.

The game is still fun and addictive. It just has a lot of problems. Roadkill is what keeps making me come back to the game because of my playstyle with it. I like getting megaguns and combining it with the alt special. I managed to do a no death and most kills in Team Deathmatch with it twice yesterday.

Bumping this topic partially for my own sake since I see I neglected to respond. A fair amount was written in response to my last posts, so even though the discussion's dead, I still owe a response when I have the spare time to reread the thread.

I rather this thread stayed dead since it's just another anti TMX thread and I don't hate Stalker Missile as much as I use to. I think the fact that you can save it by switching to another weapon should be removed though.

I can't believe people don't show up on radar when their charging up the stalker missile. For those that don't know, when you stop shooting anything for a few seconds, you will disappear from the enemy radar. This can help with sneak attacks and escapes. Whether this is a good feature or not is debatable. It can be unfair at times when you turn a corner and you get rammed by a big car that you didn't know was coming since he wasn't shooting anything. I know I said to let this thread died, but I wanted to get it back on topic and just discuss the missile in general, since this was the perfect thread to say all this.

I think that the stalker missile should have been an optional detonating 2 stage weapon that would have separated or split into betweent 3 & 6 (depending on how long you charged it) slower moving but better homing missiles that trailed behind eachother that could cause the full 45 damage if all 6 hit but caused only 25 if you chose not to detonate it; 30 if 3 of the split missiles hit, 35 if 4 hit, 40 if 5 hit & so on.

I avoid picking up the stalkers & the swarmers both because I hate the unsophisticated mechanics. I think the shotgun, napalm, sniper rifle, power missile, remote bomb (without the homing mechanism) & the ricochet are the best weapons because they most require skill & timing. I honestly think there isa major lack of versatility in weapons & vehicles in TMX.

If the missile was like that, the homing should reset every time it reaches the next bar to charge.

If you wanna do well in this game, you have no choice but to use them since everyone else is going to.

Yeah a lot of the cars have similar specials. I have gotten to it though, after playing the game for a long time. Outlaw looks like a better version of Roadkill since it has more armor and the special doesn't need to be charged. I prefer Roadkill over Outlaw though. I like Roadkill's handling, acceleration better than Outlaw's. Also I don't have to button mash the fire button. I didn't enjoy using Outlaw when I used it online. I only used it online for one day to make a video and I was not having fun. Roadkill requires more work but there's no other car that suits me best or feel more comfortable with.

I agree, the homing for both, the first and second stage would have to reset to nominal homing capability at the beginning of the charge.

When this game came out, online seemed to work the best for me immediately after release, it was really fluid & smooth. I usually just played as reaper & destroyed people for a while till the lag got really bad, then stopped playing online altogether. With reaper, I didn't need any other weapons beside my special & sidearm. Now, with every game lagging up eventually, I can't hit anyone with a flamesaw seeing as I can't properly lead a target, or "ghost".

Are you using a wireless connection? That can be the reason. Wired connection with an ethernet cable is better for online games. Unfortunately the majority of PS3 users uses wireless connection and little do they know that they are part of the reason why PS3 online games have lag. So you using an ethernet cable will not be enough.

Yeah, I use wireless, but that still never explained why the online worked so well in the beginning then suddenly couldn't even stay in matches; I'd get booted often.

Honestly, in the context of any of TM's skill-sets, Stalkers don't really seem broken, overpowered, or brain dead at all In my opinion. They are fast, they are silent, & they produce adequate DD. Indeed, this sets them apart from their traditional counterparts. However, they lack abundance, they can't be spammed(With Homing Capabilities), & also relating to the layer of depth said to have feigned in TM 2012, these CAN be anticipated, & dodged.

I've been a pretty daily player of TM 2012 since release. Since that time, I have managed to dodge literally everything except for a Remote. Even then there are ways to 100% negate a Remote Bomb, though the method is retardedly 1% chance. ( Yes I HAVE dodged a sniper body shot before ). In the context of fast paced action, 1 notable moment in my memory would be on Metro. In this match, during a period of approximately 12 seconds, I had dodged 3 homings on command, a Stalker, 2 Swarmed Arcs, 4 of Roadkills Blood Barrage Flares (16-20 damage), & 80% of a Talons' Tri Gun bullets to boot. I was using Kamikaze, & to me, from my eyes, I was bobbing & weaving through a hailstorm of death, to my opponents, I was a hacking lagswitcher(as accused on mic & later in-game chat).

Other instances include dodging 4 Stalkers on command in a Shadow VS Shadow 1v1, leaving my opponent out of Mid-Range potshot inventory, he was quickly dispatched.

Please, I know that TMA favors the in-depth of dodging, & quite honestly I miss it too. As my first post, this is not meant to be a call-out or a half-ass attempt to troll, just please understand that your claims of "brain dead" are not applicable VS myself, & Muddeh who have uncovered the insides & out of this iteration of TM.

Which is not ok. A strong weapon that has the potential of being undodgable should give the opponent a warning that it's coming like the swamers. I hate absorb shield because it punishes you for attacking which is what you're suppose to do in this game. It's can be unfair against someone with no shields.

Why are you attempting to refute an attribute I stated, in the context that I described it as a hindrance?

If you read the context, you would see I was stating it as an advantage, then adding a counter-argument. Not the opposite intention.

((( They are fast, they are silent, & they produce adequate DD. Indeed, this sets them apart from their traditional counterparts. However )))

Also, I'm well aware of the properties of stealth, & the advantages it yields. Stalkers are good potshot, or mid-range weapons. Simply having no audible cues hardly makes it OP, especially when Remotes have no such to speak of & are undodgable.

Oh I didn't know that. But yeah some of the weapons and specials in this game could really use some more audio, like Reaper's flamesaw. 150 damage with no warning.  Roll Eyes By the way I'm surprised to see you here. How did you find your way into this site?

Hmm, well there is some hints of a evil laugh as Reaper throws it, but It's very faint & it doesn't actually resonate sound from the projectile, but from the moment the enemy presses fire.

Still, I completely agree with you. I think Remotes should have had a very strict close / mid-range & had a large audio cue & perhaps travel very slow in the air, & be able to be outrun. Like the ghost, without dodging. Dodging a remote? Pfft too skillful.

I am surprised myself. Mort tells me often I should join, I don't know I finally decided to. I can be a bit lazy, & honestly considering how big of a TM2012 advocate I am, pussied out at the thought of having to reply to arguments all day, haha.

I've known about TMA for years.
