Best & Worst Maps

What stages do you like and hate? I like full maps the best because there's more places to go. I sometimes get annoyed when I'm trying to escape to a certain place, only to find out it's blocked because I still don't know some of the small maps. I don't hate all small maps. When it comes to full maps, Diablo Pass is the worst in Team Deathmatch. Have you ever had that awkward moment when both teams are on the opposite side of the bridge, waiting for you to come to them and gang up on you? Another reason why it's bad because of the snipers on the bridges.

I used to love Diablo Pass full until I started playing Hunted on it.  TERRIBLE Hunted map.  Now that I think of it, ANY full map SUCKS for Hunted because the Hunted just turbos around the whole map with Crimson or Kamikaze and it ends up f*cking you over in the end.

I love full maps for Team Deathmatch, though, because it  then involves the whole car chasing aspect instead of spawn, die, rinse and repeat.

Best maps, though: I love LA Skyline.  No one plays it, but I love it.  Full or Small, doesn't matter because it's basically the same map.  Worst is Black Rock.  I love what it was trying to accomplish, but the steep ramps make heavy vehicles REALLY hard to use, and the layout just bothers me a bit.  Maybe I'm just navigating the map wrong?

I personally do not like the full xl maps unless there are 15 ppl in the game. I prefer the medium and sometimes smaller maps because it forceseveryone to think a lot faster...more interesting that way. Full  maps with say....7 people, there are too many times within a game when nothing is happening.

LA skyline full and the suburbs I can't remember at the moment.

I always dig the roof top levels because of their unique flavor and this one has the best features from both.

Suburbs I like for the level of distruction. I would always try to level buildings in old twisted games and in this one I finally can.

I hate nearly all the XL maps, and believe they're oversized for even the largest possible lobby. I'm alright with LA Skyline XL since it's a fair bit smaller than the others, but I wouldn't even consider selecting any other XL map of I'm host of a lobby. I mean, there's 15 health packs on Thrills and Spills XL, and it takes practically a minute to drive from the end of Merlin's Madness to the end of House of Horrors. I'm also not a big fan of some of the smallest maps like Grindhouse and Skid Row, since the overcrowded quarters make it far more difficult to play lighter vehicles, mainly because most of the strong pick-ups don't take much effort to reach by the larger vehicles. I also really dislike Dead Man's Crossing for the sake that it's a poorly designed completely linear map (along with the environment damage glitch) and I don't like Tool & Die since there's far too many remote bomb pick-ups that are too easily accessible.

As for the maps I like, I'm a really big fan of Vertigo, and I believe it's probably the most well-balanced map in the game. There's tons of resources, plenty of open environment, lots of hotspots where chaos ensues, and pretty much any vehicle has the potential of having a breakout game on that map. Slaughterdale is also another one of my favourites for large lobbies since most of the stronger pick-ups are located around the perimeter of the map, while the prime locations for battling are centrally located. Ghost Town Gulch and Subway Survival are complex maps because of the abundance of strong pick-ups, and controlling those resources is extremely important. Ghetto Blaster and Trench Warfare are also great maps since they're fairly small, but have enough environmental cover and space with for the lightweights to still do well. Old School is also a very well-balanced maps that is one of the maps lightweight vehicles often excel since there's very few remote bombs. Any maps I haven't mentioned I don't necessarily mind, but usually aren't my first choices if I'm choosing the map.

I can now say that I hate Skid Row. It is the perfect map for big cars to ram everything they see and Shadows that will place cooked coffins. I just played in this map today and the car I always use is Roadkill. My team won this close match and I had the most kills which was 9 and 2755 damage done but you know what else? I had 10 deaths. Why? Because I kept getting rammed by the big cars. The first thing I did was kill that Juggernaut immediately because it can score a lot of kills in Skid Row. By the way that power missile is too easy to reach. Put it someplace else.

Brave you are using Roadkill in Skid Row. That map was complete chaos when full. I made use of the rooftops by using napalms and placing remote bombs. Especially hiding one in the power missile pick-up Grin. When it cooked you could barely even see it. When I did venture down in the streets it was basically a one way ticket to get as much dmg output and kills as possible before being evaporated. I usually made out decently or at least break even by doing that.

It's a good thing nobody used Reaper's RPG in that map. It's the most broken alt special in Team Deathmatch because it does 120 damage and you can't see it on radar. This makes Reaper one of the most broken cars in rank rooms and also the most broken Mr. Grimm in the series. This game really needs developers support and patches back.

If you're going to use a midweight/lightweight on Skid Row, you've basically got to play with the mindset of staying out of the action, spamming, and taking the extra time to collect the stronger weapons from the roofs to make your moments in combat more impactful. Otherwise, you should just use a heavyweight if you're going to stay on the streets and absorb damage. But even the lighter classes do have their uses in packed lobbies, especially if they can streak. Resources are so limited on that map that having somebody on a streak with duplicating weapons (especially napalms and power missiles) can be the difference maker. However, you have to play with that selfish mindset from the start, since the rest of your team on the streets will take more abuse due to your general absence while you build it up. I'm willing to be a tank and be poached by someone I know is capable of pulling that off, but since I used to be Death Warrant main back in the day, I'd usually be the one who carried out the streaking role. About a week ago I played a Skid Row TDM with Death Warrant even though I rarely used that vehicle these days (because I didn't have time to change, and started with machine guns as well). I managed a 14-0 game with 2819 DD and 1072 DR. But as of late, I usually play heavies on the streets and try to absorb as much damage as I can to give my teammates more freedom, since I know I'm capable of negating a lot of that damage just by feasting on health mercies and pacing myself so I'll be alive for when the health cycles come around. I've played games where I've taken zero deaths with over 2000 DR in Warthog, and considering how resources are so limited, absorbing those weapons while not allowing points to be scored is a really effective role, and if you can deal decent amount of damage in the process, you're golden.

I'm liking the Killosseum map. It's wide open for Roadkill's special. I picked it and dominated.

You're just now realizing that?

That's just a spam bowl. Talon noobs are pretty useless there, except when the blimp is activated on the XL map.

VM, MW, OL, RK, DW all dominate Black Rock. (Mostly Ranked)

Yeah I like when there's someone that's in a wide open area and take a long range homing 100+ damage. I hate Ghost Town sometimes. It's actually the best Diablo Pass map but if all were doing is waiting around in the town, while the other team is camping on the cliff, it gets boring.

I can understand that, it's definitely an easily abused map, although If you can control the town pickups, keep tabs on the players that are straying from the action, & pick them off It's really one of the best TDM maps, in my opinion. Limited health also makes map control pretty crucial.

Even if you're alone, there's plenty of environmental cover & easily accessible paths for your teammates to snag you out in a pinch in the town. The hills have a lot of wacky terrain to fight in, but some decent pickups. It's just more beneficial to control the town as a team 70% of the match rather than fight for the camping vantage point.

Camping can't hinder a team's performance as long as you have periodic flush outs to prevent overly abundant survivalists.
