For anyone that still plays this game and wants to get better at it should watch this. The freeze attack is undodgeable but there's a way to counter it without using walls. When you're using turbos and someone shoots a freeze at you, jump when it's about to hit and mash the buttons to get rid of it while you're in the air. This will make your opponent waste a freeze. Using a freeze takes away a lot of advance attack, so they will have no shield left unless you're Reaper and Juggernaut.

He can break it the fastest and it's almost pointless to freeze him. All you will do to him is reset his flamesaw. Juggernaut needs to be hit three times with the EMP in order for him to be frozen. I have not seen that happened yet.

I kinda figured by my own that jumping helps, but didn't bother to check if it really does and here you are proving it.
I always jump with RK when the instant before the I get frozen exactly like you suggested, but my problem is that I can't mash the buttons fast enough, so I still land frozen but it still takes less time to break than when I'm getting frozen on land.

and Adoneal I've seen that happening and as far as I remember it once happened to me, I was playing as JYD and the freeze came directly infront of me, I turbo rammed it and it just broke on an instant. No explanation to that but at least it happened.

Another theory can be that it just travelled the maximum distance and happened to break the moment before it gets you? I don't know.

Posts: 840 Gender:	Re: EMP Blast Reply #4 - 06/11/14 at 16:52:36 This makes it harder for Reaper to land his flamesaw, since most of them rely on freeze and for people that wants to turbo dash you with a weapon. The opponent who shot the freeze will be out of shields, so you can try and damage them badly. I love making Reaper waste his shield and freeze with Roadkill's alt.

I always jumped before they hit (usually as Axel) just to pray that I could dodge it lol, or throw body into a spot they couldnt get me.

To answer a month old question from Adonael.

I have seen this happen many times but only in specific instances and it was a bug based out of team modes and friendly fire. Maybe this is why it happened because this was the only time I ever saw a freeze not work on me.

Normally if you fire a freeze at someone who is already frozen, it gets fired back "Cheapshot", and you get frozen.

HOWEVER. In team games with friendly fire off, if a teammate fired a freeze at an enemy, and you refreeze that enemy while they are still frozen, the cheapshot will shoot back at you and do nothing. Literally nothing.

This is because the game treats the returning freeze cheapshot as an attack from your teammate. Wrongly so when it should be treated as being born from the enemy.

Because it thinks it is an attack/freeze from a teammate and friendly fire is off.... it does nothing when the freeze hits you.

I dont think they ever fixed this bug, even though I saw it and called it out in the first week.

At least that's my best guess. As for what youve pointed out Roadie, I didnt know. My time online before I lost net was limited to nuke and deathmatch mostly.
