Turns out that finding initial signs on how to achieve rapid fire was significantly easier than expected. What I've found so far could potentially lead to 9 line codes per player (10 lines in AR MAX).

If I manage to find the MIPS instruction that writes in minimum weapon launch delay values into live memory, it might become possible to reduce the length of the codes to 1 line per player (2 with AR MAX). These are the versions of the codes I'd prefer to release publicly.

so is there any more hacks for TMHOETE? like asylum change character? or make slam shoot cones special. random Shinanagans like that?? ANY!?!?!? CODES??

Switching Asylum characters is impossible. I strongly doubt any on-foot 3D models were ever created for any other characters. With no models, there's no other characters to switch to.

Regarding getting certain cars to fire other cars' specials, while researching other things, I've previously managed to do it in Twisted Metal Black Online (TMBO) test matches, but haven't tried it in TMHOETE and am unlikely to give it a go.

As for other TMHOETE codes, I recently created an interesting one that disables bot AI:

AR MAX version...

Unfortunately the codes ended up being longer and more difficult to develop than I expected, but thanks to dedication and a breakpoint debugger feature in newer development builds of PCSX2, I was able to get somewhere Smiley.

Demonstration Video

Codes

The codes below are RAW ones. To encrypt them for AR MAX support, use reply #51's revised Omniconvert guidance. For other cheat device formats, use reply #2's Omniconvert guidance.

Due to the nature of env weapons and certain car specials, in some cases the rapid fire codes might make next to no difference. For example, Cousin Eddy's special causes that vehicle to accelerate for a little while to increase ramming damage. Rapid firing won't allow multiple instances of that special to occur in tandem, but might reduce the delay when repeatedly firing specials. Same deal for cars like TMHO's Outlaw, TML's Crazy 8, etc. Their specials will still be a one-at-a-time deal. More powerful codes could potentially be developed to speed up the specials themselves, but IMO it wasn't worth going that far since it'd be extremely time-consuming.

Mastercode... (same as before - if using AR MAX I recommend reply #58's version of this code since it might support that device's "quick start" feature):

For some reason the rapid codes aren't working, even with the game ID set to 1B00. I'm getting that "This game already exist in the database" message. The mastercode in reply 58 doesn't work either.

Not right now, but maybe sometime in the future I'll consider making an attempt. I'm kind of sick of developing TMHO codes at the moment.

Would it be possible to answer the following questions?
  1. What exactly were you doing when you got the "This game already exist in the database" message? Which mastercode were you using?
  2. Did you try using the mastercode you previously had success with in combination with converted rapid fire codes? What was the result?
  3. Just to be sure, you don't have multiple TMHOETE game entries setup in AR MAX, right? From my understanding, it's not possible to assign the same game ID to multiple games (game entries?) in AR MAX.

1. I was using my version of the master code. I just go to TMHOETE in the game list, then add new code and type in the converted code and that message comes up when I press ok.

2. Yes and that message keeps showing up. I probably have to do what I did before. Keep converting until the right code shows up.

3. There's only one TMHOETE on the list. In order to add a new game you need a mastercode that works. You can take a break from codes if you want. It must be annoying making these.

Thanks for clearing those up Smiley.

Would it be possible to test out the following pre-converted AR MAX codes separately with your working mastercode? The generic weapons code should impact fires, homings, etc. It won't affect swarms, napalms, remotes, envs, nor specials.

Generic Weapons Rapid Fire (test 1; half-word)
56K4-RPVN-1XCXU
N7NE-EFJD-WCX5G

Generic Weapons Rapid Fire (test 2; word)
8PDX-UKVU-R73ZQ
93DM-BJHK-D0D0N

PS: Even though I won't be developing any brand new TMHOETE codes in the immediate future, I'll still try to provide support for the existing codes I've already released. It's kind of tricky though since I don't have a working AR MAX setup to do my own testing on.

Those don't work but I found one that does for generic weapon:
GJNZ-52BD-9VXN1
N7NE-EFJD-WCX5G

I noticed something about Omniconvert. That code is actually the first code that Omniconvert will always give you, whenever you convert the generic weapon code. Then after you press convert again, it will give you another code but it will be the same one you saw before in order. Example:

This code always comes first:
56K4-RPVN-1XCXU
N7NE-EFJD-WCX5G

This one always comes second:
VBPA-BW9Z-ADB8J
N7NE-EFJD-WCX5G

Then this one always comes third and so on in a pattern. It's the same with other codes too.
QHJ5-5PAV-RF2XY
N7NE-EFJD-WCX5G

Rapid Naplam: You can fly straight with this and reach higher places faster. Cheesy You need to press it really fast. Make sure you have Invulnerability on.
7GNZ-X548-8MX26
N4DW-09JF-6X6HQ

When the Action Replay gives you the "This game already exist in the database" message, that's an indication that the raw code is able to work in Action Replay Max when converted. You just need to keep digging in Omniconvert to find the one that work, so there was nothing wrong with Aced14's rapid fire codes at all.

Did you press "Convert" 40 times to get GJNZ-52BD-9VXN1 Cheesy? I must be crazy for having done it enough times to notice that, lol.

I already knew that the first line always changed each time an AR MAX code was re-encrypted in Omniconvert, and that subsequent lines never changed (minus mastercodes). The first line is known as an AR MAX verifier (contains code metadata, like a game ID, subfolder info, etc). I always thought the first line was randomly generated to some degree, but you appear to have found a pattern in how it's done.

Based on my quick analysis, here's what's happening. As if AR MAX's stupid game IDs weren't painful enough to deal with already, all codes have their own "code IDs". No two AR MAX codes for the same game can re-use the same code ID. That's why so many problems were encountered with the more powerful AR MAX mastercode I posted, your and crimsonstuds' initial attempts to convert rapid fire hacks to AR MAX on your own, and some of the pre-converted AR MAX codes that were posted later in this thread.

So how can you tell which codes contain duplicate AR MAX code IDs/verifiers? It's just a matter of decrypting AR MAX codes in Omniconvert.

Normally, if you were to set Input to "Action Replay - MAX" and Output to "Unencrypted - Standard", your 2 line AR MAX code (3-4 lines for mastercodes) would get converted into a 1 line raw code. That's because a decrypted AR MAX verifier is of no use to any non-AR MAX users.

However, for more advanced users... it's possible to set Output to "Unencrypted - Action Replay MAX", which will decrypt the AR MAX verifier line along with the code itself. You can then easily check for duplicate AR MAX verifiers in decrypted versions of your pre-existing AR MAX codes.

Maybe at some point I could take a look into creating an AR MAX "code pack" (.bin file to put on a USB flash drive) for TMHOETE, containing all of the codes that have been posted in this thread so far. Might even attempt to take advantage of some of AR MAX's other advanced features. That would make things far less painful for anyone stuck with an AR MAX as their only option. It would also give a good opportunity to revise the game ID if necessary. The ID we've been using so far might possibly be Omniconvert's default one... which is risky since it increases the odds of game ID conflicts with AR MAX codes for other games.

Heh, I noticed it while testing out that code when it was first created. It can be seen in action in the video I posted at the 6:13 mark.

The only thing that's wrong here is that some silly companies decided to over-complicate their cheat device's encryption algorithms to a ridiculous degree Sad.

I did more research on AR MAX and it certainly does seem to have some nifty features that its competitors lacked (automatic disc recognition, code sub-folders, ability to force sub-folders to only have one code turned on at a time, etc)... but the game/code ID aspects of its encryption algorithm are such a massive pain to deal with.

If I could recommend a disc-based cheat device, and code sub-folders aren't a must, I'd say to go with anything that can support raw unencrypted codes. Heck, even AR MAX's predecessors (Action Replay 1-2/GameShark 1-2 for PS2) apparently only used encrypted mastercodes; raw versions of normal codes worked "as-is" in them.

If homebrew is an option, nothing beats PS2RD (especially the PS2RD GUI and PS2RDMOD variants). It loads both itself and its code list instantly, can auto-detect game discs, and works with raw code lists stored in .txt files on USB flash drives. It's also open source.

How am I to play as the Head-On characters in the Lost segment? I'm sure Luis knows how to do it, but I'm not looking for Omniconvert codes. I have a Mac, not Windows. I'm sure you recognize me on YouTube; I am the YTP maker known as Cole Bezotte, aka Coleiosis. I am also a fanfic writer.
But enough of that! I can't find any AR Max codes on the internet as to how to do the effect. I'd really like to know soon.

I think it's been repeated countless times throughout this thread, but I'll mention once again. If you don't have the means of converting raw (HEX) codes on your own and/or don't want to deal with that in the first place... I strongly recommend getting a cheat device that supports unencrypted codes, such as CodeBreaker or GameShark 2 version 3. If you know how to run homebrew apps on your PS2, look into PS2RD GUI.

As for AR MAX, I don't have one to test with and even if I did, my PS2's disc drive is broken. So I can't guarantee that any AR MAX codes I create will work. Its encryption system is so ridiculously complicated that getting codes to work on it is often a hit or miss affair. It astounds me to see how widely-used AR MAX is Shocked.

I've converted a fresh new batch of AR MAX codes for TMHOETE via Omniconvert. None of them are compatible with the AR MAX codes Luis has previously posted throughout the TMA/YouTube because I'm using a different game ID (1B01) and don't want to run into conflicts. Btw the new mastercode should be able to support AR MAX's quick start mode Smiley.
