I got the Roman Catholic treatment as a kid. You think Baptist is tough....

I also can't stand when someone mentions that I'm struggling a little in life because I'm not devout. Excuse me but, I can't count how many fucking times as a child I'd ask God for help against my father kicking the shit out of me IN HIS NAME. If he wasn't going to help me then, why the fuck would he help me with anything now? It's only fucking money.

They tend to leave you alone when you put it like that. I've also said things like "It's difficult for a young kid to ask God for help when his preacher is fucking him in the ass."

I'm an atheist, but is it weird that the "Our Father" brings me some sort of peace?  I know this is because we always said it after wrestling practice in high school and it always just stuck with me as this special moment with the team.

I got the Catholic treatment as well, which I dropped once I was old enough to realize that they do some much shit opposite of what the Bible says to do... Like confession, for example. You're not supposed to go into some room with a mesh window and tell some guy everything you do that's considered a sin. According to the book, you're supposed to confess your sins to God through prayer. That's just one of the many things they got wrong. I do consider myself a Christian, but a very open-minded one. Not sure if that's an oxymoron, but I guess we'll see.

Yea. man. Getting into that box was always kinda creepy to me. I never really liked going to confession not because I felt I was sinning. It just was....creepy. That's the only word I could use to discribe it.

Then having to go and eat that flake of bread, and say "x" amount of Hail Mary's and I'm all good huh? I guess it's ok to keep fucking up so long as you keep asking for forgiveness.

Also went through conformation as well. Well fuck.....being a kid was just sin enough? I have to be reborn again at 16?

The one thing that has always stood out to me was when religion started to take hold in the human race. The time period it was in. Just that time period alone because, other civilizations had a form of "religion" that they would abide by that had nothing to do with Christ or Islam.

I think from back then was not only a way to keep people in line, but also to make sure they can cultrivate a army without fear for their lives. So long as a deity was protecting you personally, and will save your soul so long as your true, you could go out and kill the fuck out the other side and not feel bad about it. This is still happening to this day.

In a way it kinda dehumanizes the human race into sections, instead of bringing the human race together.

Honestly after reading this, I just had finger diarriha.

No. And no heaven or hell either. And for those who believe that after death, you will reunite with ancestors in a divine dimension—will be disappointed to find out that your Neanderthal cousins won't be able to hold a conversation.

A more interesting topic to me is how do you meet someone who looks familiar even though you've never seen them in your life or a skill that you have you were never aware of.

Reincarnation is a interesting topic, but I believe in all and nothing.

For the simple fact, none of us know until we die.

Yes. Things are set out alittle to conveniently for us and everything kind of just comes together. As for why does bad stuff happen well people have free will and if God just made everyone do what he wanted that wouldn't be love that would be forcing people to be a certain way. Love is something an individual should do because they want to not because they have to because love that is forced isn't love at all. Anyway my girlfriend is a buddhist and im catholic so I respect other viewpoints and I'm not a bible thumper just my thoughts on it.
