Actually the drivers here in Maine are quite lovely. I come from CA, THAT'S when you have reason to bitch.
Also, has anyone tried to drive in NYC? It's hell. Never again.
If your driving skills were not forged in the furnace of an upbringing in say, Boston or NYC, I can imagine the density and aggression of traffic being overwhelming.
I've lived in a few cities with rather annoying traffic, myself---Tokyo, Hachinohe---but I wasn't old enough to drive and, as such, I wasn't afforded the opportunity to develop that very-necessary thick skin for driving in such conditions.
In Boston, I was all but a tortoise and, in NYC, I got fucked over by exit signs coming way too fast, and ended up in Harlem at midnight-ish. Harlem wasn't so bad, but I wasn't really in any hurry to learn that for myself.
