Why is dodging bad but mashing buttons and getting instant damage isn't?  That's the craziest thing I've ever heard of.  Games hold your hand so much nowadays that the weapons need to be 100% undodgeable in a shooting game.  TMA may have been the largest gathering of people to talk about dodging, but I assure you I and many others enjoyed the ability to evade attacks in the past games.

The point is, true high-level play is slowly being eased out of the equation by virtue of appealing to the LCD of any given demographic.  

This ideology to the effect of unknowingly embracing ignorance, mediocrity and sterility is not relegated simply to games, but rather becoming a world-wide culture all its own.

In the sense that it was "genius", though, he is amazingly wrong.  Genius, in the respect of appealing to both adults and children alike would be, for instance, "A.I." or "Wall E.".  

The Star Wars prequels are polarizing in terms of how the individual films develop.  One minute serious, the next minute, stupid as fuck.  

In "genius"-level films, that barrier is often transcended to the extent that children can relate to the adult material, and adults can relate to the material intended for children.
