I did expect that.

Plus Ghost Rider 2 wasn't great so imo it's not a bad thing?

The game might have blown, but I still love TM and was still wanting to see this thing come to fruition... ugh...

What do you mean by blown? This game is already at 510,000 copies sold, and continues to raise, I'm guessing it will reach 1 million or close to 1 million going into the new year. But this game has definitely not bombed, and don't tell me things like not many people are playing, because absolutely nothing will make me change my opinion on the situation Smiley.

Dude, get real. The game fucking bombed worse than Nagasaki. It's really a broken release, and not many people are buying it because of that. I love the game, but, ya gotta face facts.

That's because you're a fucking moronic fanboy. The game is no good, plain and simple. It's one of the most broken online experiences I've ever seen, which this late in the game is inexcusable. And those sales are piss-poor compared to what they were expecting, or what they said they needed for it be a success. I love the series to death.. have been since 1995, but I'm not gonna sit here and be fed bullshit and let someone tell me it's steak. Mark my words, this game won't last much longer and more than likely, Twisted Metal is dead. If Sony ever decides to make another one, I'd be in complete shock.

By the way, there's no propaganda here.

"Already at 510,000 copies sold"

You act as if that's a good thing. It is not.

"I'm guessing it will reach 1 million or close to 1 million going into the new year."

No it won't. It will be lucky if it can pass 650,000 in its lifetime.

"But this game has definitely not bombed, and don't tell me things like not many people are playing, because absolutely nothing will make me change my opinion on the situation"

This game bombed. Hard. Many vets hate it. Even if you liked it, you can barely play it online. It's been out for over 4 months. It's a dud. It's dead.

Lots of games suffer bad networking at launch. They get patched or they don't. But one big thing is they often times are strong enough in the single-player, split-screen or (working) content-sharing parts to survive. Twisted Metal is a failed multiplayer title with a flimsy single-player mode tacked on.

Go away.

Guys, do you really think all games can sell CODs numbers in a couple of months? and I haven't been having much connection issues lately, It is usually just a few here and there, then I'm in a game, I don't see how it is completely broken, that would be if the game didn't work at all. Plus, just because not many play online, doesn't mean they don't play offline splitscreen or LAN, there are a ton of offline modes they could be playing while they wait for online to get more stable. Oh, and easy Disaster Child, I'm just expressing my opinion, no need to call me a moronic fanboy. Plus there really is no way of any of you knowing if people aren't playing at ALL. Smiley.

In the time it takes you to read this sentence how many people in the world do you think are actively engaged in either a LAN or sp/screen match of PS3 TM?

Please just reply with a figure.

Thanks

this thread is closed, since the movie is stalled. If there is any more news on a Twisted movie I will unlock it but this thread has been derailed enough.

Okay, well, apparently, there is some news on this movie, but it's unofficial.

According to Wikipedia actor Kevin Dillon (Entourage, Platoon, Poseidon) will play Calypso and actor Costas Mandylor (Mark Hoffman from the SAW horror series) will play Marcus/Needles Kane. Each of their wiki pages have TM in their filmography. The project is said to still be in pre-production though, so who knows. There was a rumor on the TM wiki about the movie coming out December 20th, 2013, but since there is no real source for this info it's likely bullshit (especially since originally the plan was for a 2014 release).

I will say, if this casting info is true, that Costas Mandylor is a good choice to play Needles. He plays a good creep. Kevin Dillon as Calypso, not too excited, a tad bit worried as a Calypso fan, but at least the guy is the right age for the role.

This would have been posted earlier had you not locked this thread Mosh.

Wiki seems to get leaks of info that can't be confirmed by other relevant sources sometimes, making it seem like rumours, yet with big blockbuster films like Jurassic Park 4 being announced around the same time have release dates that are close to the supposed one listed for the Twisted Metal film on Wikipedia.

I'm going to keep the post unlocked. When I first made the thread there was a lot of arguing, so I didn't want that to continue for a year or more without any news/rumors.

Also, I found another release date rumor on the net: http://www.filmofilia.com/movie/twisted-metal/ This movie site has the release date set for Dec. 31st, 2013, but the fact is the project is still in pre-production, so that's a very unlikely date, but still, thought I'd share.

As for the lack of sources for the casting news, it may be stuff that is put on IMDbPro (so someone would see that and put it on wiki).

As for the director Brian Taylor, I wonder if he's currently working on writing the screenplay. He hasn't directed since 2011 or written since 2010, so he's had a lot of time to work on Twisted Metal. Also notable, TM will be the first movie he directs alone, which seems like it could be a lot of pressure for him, especially on a 7 figure budget.
