I am sorry but TMB isn't this holy grail of TM to me (And this is only my opinion not trying to get into a flame war just trying to assess the situation from my perspective). I love TMB but I am sorry I just can't see how TMPS3 isn't the better game.

I played TMB and the cars seemed to handle similar to one another, the ramming was a complete non-factor, and a lot of the levels seemed the same play wise. Yeah I had a blast playing it but it wasn't perfect nor will any game be perfect.

I think that a lot of people ended up playing TMBO for years and years and simply due to having gotten to know the game in and out and as rabid as the fan-base for it is I don't think any game could have gotten the most hardcore TMBO players away from TMBO.

I love TMPS3. Is it perfect no, but is what we are getting the final product? No there will at least be a couple patches to balance things out and some more tweaks will happen as well. Once the game is patched and tweaked I think that what we will get is by and far the best TM package we ever had. But it won't be perfect nor could it have been.

Yeah the online being broken for about a month after release (Its not perfect now but its very playable) was a drag. The Talon/Sweet Bot auto aim mega guns, and the uneven way some cars play are a major buzz kill for some matches.

In the end though I think that people have to give the game some time. You gave TMBO a decade, a new game comes in and its a little rough out the box and you shut it down? I don't know but to me it seems like a lot of people need to give it another go once the game gets tweaked and patched.

I usually play Saturday to Sunday afternoon's, Monday to Friday 10-11 pm EST. I also played last Sunday at 12-2 am EST. And the lowest I saw was 70 games total. I don't know when you are checking maybe its just when there aren't too many people online.

The online community is there. Its not huge but its a solid community I don't run into the same people over and over again.

Also you cite TM's sales declining in comparison to a moderately successful game like Heavy Rain. Keep in mind there hasn't been a major price drop for TM. Heavy Rain was priced down to 40 after about 5 weeks.

TM will see a nice uptick in sales (to five figures nothing crazy) once it goes on sale to 40 dollars. All those 350k TM sales are all full priced sales. Heavy Rain also had a decent ad campaign and a market in Japan (That TM just can't seem to crack).

I understand you have legit complaints about TMPS3 that go beyond online and obvious balance issues. The only point I stress is that there is going to be more work done to the game come the next couple patches and the weekly tweaks. I say to a lot of TMBO and TMA vets to not give up on TMPS3 until the game is patched up tweaked and polished up and you know for sure its beyond the point of no return.

But I think that because I only played TMBO for a little while around 03-04 I just don't see what you see in that game. Maybe that's were the disconnect is. I love TMB and TMBO don't get me wrong but when I read about how it played to some I just don't see it that way.

I guess I am just sick of a lot of the negativity for what I think is a really good game and the best TM ever. Every thread seems to divide into the same flame war I am just so burnt out on it. I almost wish that there could be a separate forum for TMPS3 topics and other TM game topics.

Bottomline I think that a lower price point will boost sales and the stabilizing of the online will also stabilize the online community. TM to me seems like if Sony wants it to it can have legs to sell, but that's a big if.

I keep sensing a disconnect here. I never played TM2 PC but I did play the shit out of TM2 on PS1 with friends. I only played TMBO form 03-04 and a little in 05. TM2 and TMB were great for their time. But I can't see myself playing those games now. Not that the graphics are lame (Don't care too much about graphics) or anything like that, just that the mechanics seem like you have to hone them into a very particular manner in order to be effective competitively.

Theres no crime or shame in disliking the new game or not understanding WHY people dislike it. But people need to see it and accept it for what it is and not for what it isn't (TMBO fanboyism, not willing to change, not wanting to adapt, etc etc insert BS here).
