It's possible you are one of the select few for whom this TM will be your favorite ever. For every critical dud or just "good' product out there there is someone who thinks it's the best ever (I should know - I liked Star Trek V - not many who can claim that).
Someone thinks Batman Forever is the best Batman ever. Do you? If you don't, do you just not accept change?

Someone thinks Spiderman 3 is the best Spiderman movie ever. Do you?
See the trend? There's always SOMEONE. However, you should be suspect if you're in that group and there aren't many others when you look around. It doesn't mean you're automatically wrong (there are always missunderstood products) but it is a sign, and a BIG one.

I love TM Black, anyone here that really knows me could tell you that. It was a huge obsession of mine. I never lost my love for it. I love TM2. It is what introduced me to the series. It has awesome gameplay even now. Stories were entertaining. Fighting Darktooth, my favorite boss EVER. I think TM1 is awesome. I still play it even. I love its darker more realistic feel to it. Hell, every so often ill even play some TMHO. I even love TMSB I love them all. There is a great deal of love I have for all of these games. But I also love TMPS3. Its a fresh addition to the series. Great car selection. Awesome stories. Frustrating AI in SP. Total chaos in some gameplay moments. Just an awesome fresh game we can have to keep us happy and entertained. It is different game from the rest and i love that about it. They wanted to try something new and IMHO they delivered.
So I can safely say that there isn't one game that disappoints me. Not because I am a fan boy, not because I aim to please some higher power, but because every one of those games have strong and weak points. Like any other game. They are ALL great games for what they can offer, and what how the other games compliment each other with their variations.
You cannot use this community against the crowd numbers claiming its dying. As you and countless others have said before, the community is getting older. People are moving on. Things change. Lives change. People are shying away from what was once the main force behind this site. There are also newcomers enjoying the new game. Driving the force back... some Havent posted here before. Also back with TMB, there was little else in the retail market to purchase from that had any comparison to TMB when it was released. PS2 was a baby. No XBox or Gamecube to compete with it. There was almost no exclusivity around. Everyone had a PS2. TMB had more hype, it was a very close PS2 LAUNCH title ffs. Honestly if not for TMB, i would not have bought a PS2.
Now you are talking about a game (TMPS3) that is exclusive to a PS3, a console ultimately inferior as far as fans are concerned when compared to Xbox 360. Not everyone owns a PS3. Not everyone likes or even knows about car combat genre in general. It is a small genre. Very small. and the console its exclusive to is competing with multiple consoles, which isnt helping. As I said before, if this game was multiplat (PS3, XBox 360, even PC), it would be like night and day. Stronger community. More support, bigger fan base etc...
You are bringing up too many examples that have little to no merit. I want to see number statistical proof coming from the devs and official gaming sites that TM is dying or on the slope of doom. Then I will be less defensive about it. And I am willing to bet my left nut that the main reason this community is "dead" as you put it, is not because of dislike for the game, but how immature we have all become. Including myself. Who wants to deal with that bullshit?
Yea Kilrahi plays it, I am guessing because the same "lack of support" for this game is also deadened TMBO as well. So what choice does he have but to play the game he bashes constantly and dislikes so much? Why is he playing a game so much that he dislikes sometimes outright loathes. And I am slapping you in the face? Hypocritical statement right there. How about you slapping us in the face basing our love for this game based on how many times i been online playing compared to Kilrahi. I am playing this game almost every night. sometimes I give up sleep to play with Mosh and Mort. Sometimes I am over my neighbors house playing it with him. We have a shit load of employees where I work that love this game, that bought a PS3 strictly for this game. And we always getting together to have LAN games or take turns playing online. Hell, my brother play this game with me. My point? You dont have a fucking clue about me
I have no problem that you guys dislike the game. When i was playing TMBO with you all I knew you wouldn't like the game. I am fine with that. For a little bit i accepted that fact and respected it. I understood your concerns. It didnt bother me either. My problem is that not only are you disliking the game, but you are outright destroying the fun out of it for the rest of us. And I say us because I am not the only one with this feeling. I am just sick of the negativity with this game as if TM3 was remade all over again to insult you guys.
And i do not know what you are talking about. Online gaming rooms are plenty. I never EVER have a problem finding rooms. There is always a match going. Maybe you guys should join me in the east coast to see what I see.
Dont worry, with the new TMA site whenever it fucking gets here, the TMBO section will be returning just for you guys. Then you can let the rest of us enjoy this game in peace.
I take TMAers like Kilrgrn more seriously regarding these debates because she is the one person out of a few here who would be more than willing to jump into any TM game you would want to play with her. TMBO, TM2PC, TMHO it wouldn't matter. She loved them all. And even though we have had our differences, she has a lot more to offer and I respect her opinions more than some here because she would be more open minded about the debate. If she said she disliked the game compared to the past titles, at least I know she would still have the respect for it and gave it a real sporting chance. I am not sure if she doesnt like the game or if she does. But my point is, she isnt just defending one game. She is a lover of all the TM games. And has a fair opinion and view about them. Other people like AIC, Mort, Mosh, Night, EVEN Hellbent etc fall under the same category.
Until very recently, I have not been a very big online player. I am a lover of single player games because i grew up enjoying them. My gaming days go all the way back to D&D, Atari, old Apple games etc... The only multilayer games I truly loved were the first FPS online games like doom, quake, etc. My point is, i wasnt a big TMBO\TM2PC online player like some of us here. I played them plenty in the past, but not the thousands of hours you guys played them. So my opinion probably means nothing to you, which is also constantly thrown in my face. And I get it. But I have a hard time taking someone who continues to compare this game to a 10 year old title seriously. Reviewers seem to love the game (most of them), a lot of us love this game, other gaming communities are enjoying the game. So why does this game offend this small group so much?
