Anyone think we'll ever get Harbor City?

I hope we do someday. I'd like to see closure for the characters' storylines, plus the new direction the series would have taken (on-foot sections) would be pretty cool IMO. It'd also be nice if they brought back everyone from Black.

Seriously? If someone makes a mod for my ps3 that is sweet tooth in GTA (not pc) I would PayPal you loot immediately. I was looking for once since TMHO:ET edition came out.  That or a ST skin for manhunt.

I'm sure it exists in alpha/beta form somewhere. It'll surface one day, we've all seen the screenshots.

Honestly, on-foot sections would be a fucking mess, unless they made the sequences like God of War. Even then, it would be sketchy.

And no, we're probably never getting Harbor City. At least not the way it was being made back in the mid 2000s. Hell, we're definitely not getting Twisted Metal:Apocalypse or Twisted Metal: Midnight Club starring Nigga Tooth.

BTW, was that story about the developers dying in a plane crash real?

I would not mind the on foot segments if they were more of an interactive story telling thing. While i love the arena combat in Twisted Metal i have no desire to play TM2 or TMB and fight AI's except for pure nostalgia.

I like it when they toss in different things into general TM stories. While bonus stages and races are something everyone generally hates. Later down the line when i replay the game it's much funner to me.

The old "kill everyone to go to the next level" thing is as stale as fetch quests in RPG's.

I imagine it must have been difficult to direct the game with both ESP and Santa Monica working on it. It's kind of bullshit to bust his balls over details considering the effort he is clearly putting into everything.

No.  It was absolutely 100% not true.

This is correct.

They died in a tragic submarining accident off the coast of Bermuda.

LMAO

I think that on-foot missions would be fucking stupid, honestly. Like stated before, leave that shit to GTA. I do like the big city connected by freeways concept, and think that would have worked out well. But alas, no, I don't think we'll ever the the Harbor City they originally started working on.. at least, not in some retail release form.

As far as GTA mods go, it's my understanding that you can't mod the console versions of the game. That's why I plan on getting it on PC. There is a guy who has reskinned over 200 cars, giving us the real deal rather than the Rockstar knockoffs. He's done everything imaginable.. Subaru Impreza STi's, Mitsubishi Evos, Corvettes, Humvees, Bentley Continentals, Nissan Silvias... And yes, it's worth buying it for that reason alone, to me.

I hope there's a true sequel to Black one day.  These stories were incredibly weak.  The stories themselves were fine, it was just the execution of them that really didn't work.  ST's especially had so much potential.

But none of the characters were as fully developed or as well rounded as Black's were.  The stories weren't nearly as fleshed out either as they could have been, and there were way too many holes.

And the live action 300 style CGI just didn't work for me.

Black had an excellent story with well developed characters with great payoffs.  This game just didn't live up to expectations in terms of storytelling when compared to Black.

I know the big focus was gameplay, and the gameplay when it's good, it's insanely good, but just... Black had such great stories that still stand the test of time today.

These just... eh.

As for Harbor City, I think the on foot missions wouldn't have worked, but I loved the idea of the level continually expanding.
