Sweet Tooth's passenger is flashing his dick and it's blurred out. Just what I would do in middle of car combat. Or doing a Michael Jackson, holding a baby covered in black fabric.

I often jack it while playing TM so i'm glad the artists are into that too.

I'm sorry i really cant unsee that and it's funny every single time i click this thread.

On a serious note the actual art style of the game is fucking awesome. It looks like a slightly new take on TM while retaining elements from TM2 and TMB. Can't ask for much more then that.

holy shit, I finally see the nude, crotch grabbing clown.  You really have to twist your thinking to get there.  Its very telling that this was Hellbent's first impression.

If there is something pornographic in a drawing i'm gonna catch it. I grew up on Disney VHS tapes and late night cartoons on cable TV.

Though i don't think that one is intentional. They just drew his passenger like a midget and gave him knee shoulders. Also the fire on on his head makes his head kind of look like an arm due to the colors not contrasting.

Took me about 5 seconds to notice it and i'm still laughing.

lokking at it again, I'm not sure what its supposed to be.  It think it has polka dot pants, so maybe it is a crotch shot.  This deserves a new thread

i hate saying this because it pisses me off anytime i draw something and i don't notice weird details like this.

But Sweetooth's passenger isn't wearing any pants on the cover. It looks like he's got his leg up in the window and his arm reaching down for his junk.

Either that or what i'm percieving to be an arm is someones face and the leg is his torso. That guy has some jagged knee like shoulders... But seriously squint your eyes and look at that. Hilarious.

Probably not intentional. I can't count how many times i've drawn people fighting and it looks like one of them is grabbing a handful of crotch. The guy riding shotgun just has some leg shoulders and a huge forehead.

I can't unsee it now.

I've tried and tried to see this so many times now but I just can't see it...   Undecided

...If anyone had ever told me that in the future I'd be straining to catch a glimpse of a clown jerking it in an ice cream truck I would have seriously had a problem with them. Oh well, I guess maybe I should be glad I don't see it.

Well he doesn't have to be beating off. Perhaps he is trying to keep his soda from spilling or he's texting somebody.

But it looks more like a knee/thigh and an arm to me. If the top of the "arm" is supposed to be a flaming clown head. Then that guy is a dwarf.

I can't believe people are complaining about repetition in specials.  Based on these magazine pages, this game has way more depth in specials than any past TM game.  How can you say there's too much repetition when TM1 had 75% straight shooting specials? And everyone still loves that game.

Warthog having a weak spot when he's using his crush special?? That's amazing.  Think of the potential strategies there.  If you're up against Warthog, load up on power missiles.  When he comes near, throw up a shield and smash him with 2 power missiles.  Or pick Mr. Grimm and wipe him out with 1 flaming chainsaw.  Based on this fact alone, Warthog will play WAY differently than Axel.  And guess what?  It looks like we finally got the Hammerhead style vehicle we always wanted. I look forward to CRUSHING lots with Warthog.
EDIT: Let's not forget that Warthog will have great turbo ram damage without using a special whereas Axel has weak turbo ram damage.  This will be another important distinguishing factor.

Darkside has insanely good ramming AND retains his TMB ramming special?  Perfect.

Outlaw has extra turbo and strong ram damage?? Genious idea...lead ramming is going to be fun with this guy.

Shadow's special does more damage the longer it travels??  Nice! We've been asking them to do that for YEARS.  In TMBO, you could use Shadow and JYD's specials just like an Axel shockwave blast if you double clicked the button.  Now this lame, unskilled tactic is abolished.

Looks like JYD has a cool T-slide type ram move.  Robot ST's swiping attack and his airborne "Sweet Slam" seem like really cool specials.  Roadboat retains Mr. Slam's special with a cool new twist.

Also very cool how different cars break out of freeze/EMP faster and how some can jump higher, burn through AA slower, burn through turbo slower, etc, etc.  This is going to make every car feel drastically different.

Based on what I'm reading on these magazine spreads, ESP has listened to us.  They've given us the big dogs we wanted, and they're coming with cool, unique specials.  TMBO Darkside and his t-slides, TMBO Axel and his wheels of death, TM2 Hammerhead in the form of Warthog with his CRUSH, a sick new version of Sweettooth that seems to play even more head-on than past games, TMBO JYD with a bonus up-close special, TM2 Mr. Slam in the form of Roadboat.  And if that's not enough, we also get Outlaw who seems like he'll be able to play quite aggressively.  Don't forget Juggernaut.

It seems like they gave all of the fast cars good up-close specials and fairly weak distance specials.  This is the perfect formula for a TM game.  It means the fast cars can't run and dick around all game.  If they want to win, they'll have to learn how to get into the heart of the battle and inflict damage close-up.  It really sucked chasing around Roadkill/Brimstone/Spectre all game with Darkside/Manslaughter in TMBO.  We might not have to worry too much about that anymore.  Looks like Darkside and Sweettooth have really accurate low damage specials to finish off targets in red health, another nice addition.

Kamikaze looks like a really cool vehicle.  Save up a few specials, use an EMP blast special, then use your AA freezes and flamethrower special weapon to wreak havoc.  If you find you're getting killed a lot by Kamikaze, you can counter by picking a car like Mr. Grimm or JYD because they break out of the EMP very quickly.  However, a car like Darkside will likely get owned by Kamikaze since he says disabled longer by the EMP.  I think this is an excellent addition and will add heaps of depth to the game.

well put rapid.  each car has two or three special weapons, more dynamic than standard weapons, and with many uses.  complaining about cloned specials is petty

On paper this TM is prime to be the best of the series. There is no doubt about that. The levels of complexity and strategy that runs through my mind as I read the pros and cons of each vehicle in this article is quite astounding, and although I was a little apprehensive about some vehicles sharing similar specials earlier on, I think once you get down to it, they are not that similar at all.

The true test of whether this game is as deep and rich as Jaffe and co. claims will only become apparent after TMA and the long standing players of the series as a competitive bunch get their hands on it. I'm sure this game will be amazing, but I'm not going to get too hyped up or disappointed until after I've played it for a substantial amount of time. In an age where every gaming franchise continually gets dumbed down to accommodate noobs and veterans alike I have to be fearful if TM will suffer the same fate.

This is my feeling as well.  Everything sounds suped up and better, but it's been ten years and my expectations are high.

I KNOW this is worth purchasing, and I KNOW it'll be fun.  I KNOW I'll play it a while.  Will it hook me for years on end?  I've played some aspects of it that say, "Hell yeah," and others that say, "Hmmmm . . ."

In twenty more days I'll have a better idea.

It seems that the smaller cars are going to rely heavily on a run and gun method when it comes to their specials.  After watching stitches and kil's vid,  getting in doing damage and jetting out seems like the obvious strategy..  though I'm sure we will have to see when the game actually ships.

i still have my faith in esp for putting a finely tuned and deep game play.  I think alot of the vets are still somewhat hung up on tmho with being in development for 6-8 months tops.

To me my hesitation to go ahead and get all hyped and fall head over heels in love with the new game has nothing to do with how TMHO turned out. I enjoyed HO for what it was but I think it was ultimately only supposed to be a bite sized version of TM made for handhelds in an era when wifi and serious portable online gaming were in its infancy.

In a way the same could be said for TMBO because it was launched at the same time that Sony was taking its first foray into online gaming on consoles. However, the differences are vast as BO was intended to be a very deep game and the foundation was already laid out from the retail version. Much more time was invested in crafting the experience, not to mention Jaffe was at the helm. But I digress....

I have a lot of faith in ESP as well, but like Kilrahi said, its been 10 years and a lot of us have been fantasizing, especially those of us who lived through the TMBO days, what a new TM would be like and I'm scared it isn't going to be that. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be one of those old bastards who hates on every new TM game because they are hopelessly in love with past iterations of the game and just can't get past that. At the same time, TMBO to a lot of us, was.....the absolute shit. I don't want to go into the new game expecting TMBO2, but I do want some of the same experiences and feelings that that game gave me. I want the depth that takes months to uncover.

I don't want this to be overly noob friendly because games have become that way. Most MP games these days are master within two weeks to a month, play for few months max and then move on to something else. Its just a pattern that has developed in today's ever changing bland MP gaming landscape and I hope I don't feel like I've seen and done it all within a few months after release.

A lot of people say the characters in the game are what makes it TM and gives it its personality. A lot of people say the cars are what make this game TM and gives it its personality. Where this game has personality is in its gameplay and how people play it. I remember playing so many people in TMBO and their unique style and personality would show through how they chose to play the game. It was all about subtle ideas and personal gameplay choices that made the game so fun and original. I just hope the new game feels like that. I want it to be obvious who I'm facing in a match based on how they attack me and not have everyone just doing the same shit to the point that its generic.

I totally just rambled.....

I didn't want to get hyped up too early for this game.  But honestly, the more I learn about the game, the harder it is to contain my excitement.  Like Xizor said, that magazine article makes the game sound incredible.  Even if this game doesn't have the same driving and dodging mechanics as TMBO, it's still going to be a killer game.

TM2 didn't have amazing handling and dodging mechanics but the freezing, ramming, and variety of specials made it fun for years.  I wouldn't get too caught up on the driving depth.  You don't NEED that in order to have an addictive car combat game.
