So, while playing my PS3, I suddenly hear it beep, and it shuts off. Thinking nothing of it, I thought it might have just overheated or just crashed, as systems sometimes do. However, when I went to play it several hours later, the light turned green, flashed yellow, and blinks red. So, I pretty much know it's dead. Anyone ever have this happen and try to fix it? It's a 60 GB BC, if that makes a difference.

My old forman grill died on me twice after the second time I just bought a new model. Issue is with the sodder and over heating causes cracks in the sodder and breaks your ps3. Could be a number of other issues but thats the most common.

I really don't want to send it in, because it's not under warranty (at least I don't think so...), and I don't want to lose all my day by recieving a refurbished council. I may try dusting it out or resoddering it, and see what happens from there.

Either way your going to need a new playstation if you can't fix it yourself. The blu-ray case is made out of aluminum so it isn't that hard to get onto. A sharp pair of scissors will do the trick if you have a strong hand or snips if your a carpinter.

Anyways, you can get it open with little effort. Fixing it is the hard part not knowing the exact problem.

Destroy it or don't. The choice is yours.

Ive had a forty gig since the ps3 came out and ive been pretty lucky. My issue is i need more space. Since i can get the 320 gig one for probably a lil over 200...i may do that. Discount from where i work is why i say 200.
