Hellbent makes a good point. I have one email account that's linked to my phone, and it's only for important shit, like PayPal or eBay, so I know if something is coming or going out of it. The rest of the shit like websites that require an email address get sent to my AOL, which is pretty much a spam cesspool.
Jesus Christ Tazz, you're clicking this spam links on here?
They probably keep coming because of him and the 6 or 7 other people that can't immediately tell it's spam and are dumb enough to click the links.
These spammers are bots being controlled by a botnet. These bots are being controlled by peoples computers that are infected with botnet malware. These days lots of users have no idea they even have it because the botnets can operate off the GPU of your graphics card. So it doesn't slow down your computer as much and makes it far less likely for the unwitting user to ever even attempt to clean their computer up. Which is now one of many slaves in a botnet controlled by a single person. Used to not only spam websites but infect other computers. But also to participate in denial of service attacks (like the one that took PSN down) and many other harmful activities which directly profit the botnet owner up to tens of thousands of dollars a month.
Some of them are bots just trying to place keywords for search engines to sniff up. There is a lot of money to be made in doing that. The idea is to get a company to pay you to use your botnet in order to spam their product name or website over as many places as possible. That way it boosts your company or products place on search engine results. The viruses they add cause your computer to also be part of the botnet.
So basically the viruses on Tazz's computer are probably the ones creating new accounts on TMA. As well as other websites. In many circumstances people who have computers that are acting as botnets drag these things around like fleas. The botnet uses people like him to find active message boards then uses their own computers to spam everywhere they go to that their botnet can crack into.
Since i spend the most time here. If i had some kind of ability to delete posts. I could manage the bot problem pretty easily. They tend to attack when most Americans are sleeping. But i'm on a totally different schedule so i can nuke them before you guys even wake up in the morning.
