"I for one would want to run some games with the health semi running around."

And I for one would want to run a health semi around some of those games!

Might be a cool secret character or something?

I dunno I know what I'm saying is probably far away from reality but I just think the idea of driving one of these big fuckers with the health option (and some weapons of course) seems fun.

maybe an alternate MP game option...???

I'll go away now...

Maybe when you die in last man standing you can become health semis?  Or pedestrian cars?

In the old forums I thought it would be cool if you went on foot with a gun after ur car got destroyed. Just for "Oh Shit" moments. U'd be nothing more then a piss ant but it'd be funny.

I'll play the game however. If it's with healths or not. If it's 1v1 or 16 players in a Dogpound setting.  Huh It doesn't matter. It's TMPS3, and I'm gonna be blasting it up with anyone who wants an explosive to the face.

I was just looking a comment on host customization for settings that's all. I know that it was mentioned and suggested many times on old TMA, and in this forum as well.

I hate to harp on that point but, it would definately make for some great customized games. Not like anyone would want to run around with MG only.......  Roll Eyes Fucking barf.

Im pretty sure we can have the option to turn off health pickups.

Health pickups, imo, slow the game pace down and just promote pussy tactics to farm healths to make up for skill.

If you played TM2PC or TMBO you would know healths were banned for important reasons. It simply didn't add anything to gameplay except kill the fun factor and force the players actions to rely far more on defense than actual fighting.

I am sure that healths will be turned off.  However, I find it interesting how we at TMA seem to hate health pickups and especially full health pickups, while Jaffe seems to mention the fun of chasing down some dude racing for the last heath.

Well no offense to Jaffe and developers, but he nor they are perfect and mostly haven't played the fuck out of their own online games like we have. I mean the developers from Incog whored Axel and C8 in TMBO, how fucked up was that? Also, Jaffe hasn't worked on an online TM game to know just how bad healths get abused. Funny how they asked about TMBO.

In TM2PC, if we had of allowed health pickups, some people would just never die (myself included). To get better, everyone pretty much learned how to dodge every weapon in order to last longer in combat. I'm damn sure people wouldn't have been near as good as they got had we allowed em.

In TMBO it was far worse though, it was a much longer and arduous task to bring an enemy's health bar down to zilch than it did in TM2PC, you did a tremendous amount of work that simply got undone by one stupid pickup. Why reward a player's lack of defense with easy access to a freebie full health pickup that undoes 3 minutes of hard work from the enemy?

Also, I can recall people simply running circuits around levels from mini health pickup to mini health pickup and being cloaked the entire time. Thank god we played a ton of net damage games in the early days.

Jaffe also keeps saying this is a car combat game that's had balance like a fighting game? But what fighting game uses health items?

I have nothing against people using strategy that adds to gameplay, it's just that the only strategy that is born out of farming health pickups is both game breaking and kills all the fun. It's a car combat game, not nascar.

I don't think Health pickups are a bad thing if there is only like 1 or 2 per-level and they don't regenerate at all. Like if a third of the way through the match the health pick up(s) appear and once they are picked up they are gone.

The health semi's might be tricky because you could just destroy them or they could be abused. Either way health pick ups aren't a bad thing if they are rare and not full health pickups because that element of random adds a little wrinkle to the gameplay.

it depends really how you see it. Some people play the game how it is while others try to balance the game. As nit pickers, TMA in whole try to balance the game as much as possible. As long there is an option this time to turn them off, which there should be, there shouldnt be a problem setting it up games we all enjoy.

need to get this magazine tomorrow, dont want to read the scans unless I have to.

Exactly what Rok said here. I play the same way. All out no matter what. "Rules" or "No rules"  But then again, I have been on the side of the fence where Road is talking about, and it's a very valid point.

Either way, I'm hoping there are host options. Please in the next interviews Jaffe/Scott, SAY that there is a host option so we can have it in concrete.

There will always be people in every game who exploit the little things or do the cheesiest tactics just for the win regardless of how lame it is. It's when these tactics alter everyone elses strategy that really sucks the life force from the game. In order to combat people farming healths, now you yourself have to grab healths just to stop them from getting the upper hand.

Yes I would be totally down for 1-3 pickups that do not regenerate. But I think id be playing 100 percent of time with zero healths.
