that was awesome...now it all makes sense when minion tells calypso to rot in hell with his little sister.
It doesn't make sense that minion won tm1...he shouldn't have been in TM1 at all...I really do wish that Jaffe/singletrac had kept the original cut scenes/movies and endings. it would have made alot more sense then the text endings as far as fitting the story from 1 - 2 together.
I find it interesting how Calypso has been constantly evolving in every TM.
TM1 - he was obsessed about about good of a driver you were and how much skill you had behind the wheel
TM2 - He was only concerned about the contest.
TMB - he was all about revenge and watching people suffer - almost like a jigsaw a bit
TMHO - he had a snobbish - better than everyone else attitude and only cared about his status (money, women, fame ect)
I think that Jaffe realized that his original story for Minion in TM1 as well as the story arc for TM1 was kind of lame. So he simply just scrapped it and put in those text endings that vaguely represented his original story and rebooted the story of TM in TM2.
I don't consider TM to have any representative official story. TM1-TM2-TMHO vaguely follow each other but there are a ton of plot holes in each and their relationship to one another is tenuous at best.
TMB is in its own universe and it might be running parallel to the other TM universe but its just so far removed from the other games its pretty much on its own.
In the end I don't think there is a real story to TM like Jaffe said himself he isn't big on continuity of the TM universe.
I would love to see a comic reboot the series talk about Calypso's origins, the early days of TM, a fully fleshed out story for TM1-TM2-TMHO and TMB. Tie it all in keep core concepts from each but make it much more continual within its self.
