Ok I'm not going to down anyone for not wanting an m rating. But with that said no one is forcing you to buy this game. Pretty much everyone here saw the m rating coming for months I know I did. This is twisted metal the sick twisted stories blood and gore goes along with the game
I don't know how people can say they saw this M-Rating coming for months. Jaffe was aiming for a T, and thought they were going to make it until they sent more recent live-action video. I'm sure it can be a fine line between a T and a M, as ESP tried to test the edge of that boundary. However, to say you KNEW this was going to happen long ago implies you are more in tune with the process and the material being evaluated than Jaffe himself.
And to say "this is twisted metal the sick twisted stories blood and gore goes along with the game" is understandable, and I agree with you to a degree, but the only previous TM game to have the M-rating was Black. All other TM's have been T, where much of the violence was implied.
I understand what Kilrahi is saying too, because I have younger kids and while I would like to share the new Twisted with them, the nature of the stories prohibit me. Although I probably wouldn't let them see the T-Rated live-action scenes anyway, so SP was likely not an option in the first place. I should be able to let them play offline with me though.
Even Jaffe said he wouldn't let his kids watch that stuff, haha. Every parent and kid is different, so I see no need to harshly judge someone else's parenting skills.
I'm with Obliverate on the gore aspect. I enjoy blood and gore, but it can be overdone when considering the context of the material. I can live with a T or a M either way, I just want the stories to be the main focus and the gore to accompany it where appropriate.
I think the new Mortal Kombat is a good example of this from a personal standpoint. Now I haven't played it yet, but I've seen a ton of videos and the game looks fantastic. I remember playing MK 20 years ago in the arcades and I loved it. It was more edgy than other fighters, with enough gore to make it entertaining. The gore in the new MK, well it doesn't bother me but there is part of me that thinks it is a little excessive; to the point where the fatalities don't interest me as much or leave anything to the imagination. Only so much dismemberment I can see before I get kinda bored of it.
