beta testing the new game would be legit, and he knows exactly where to go to get it done

as fun as the earlier titles were, it'd be hard to swallow if the new game ditched the dark atmosphere that Black had. that game made more sense and felt more like 'home' to me that the first 2. as much as I love nostagia and seeing the origin of something great, i'd rather see the series stay dark. the driving mechanics argument is nill to me since I feel an arcade driver is pretty much the same no matter the game. 2 and Black felt almost the same to me

What? I think you should go back and play both. Very different feel and driving physics. No matter how arcadey a games car physics are they are usually uniquely different.

yeah buddy, you cant do the 3 mile power slide in black, and you dont feel it when you ram in black like you do in TM2. as much as i like the 80s heavy metal nightmare theme in 2 the black theme wont bother me at all as long as theres a little more diversity in battle ground styles and custom soundtracks. the main thing im worried about is the driving/car physics.

it has been close to a decade since I've played World Tour, but still.. in general, arcade drivers all feel the same, at least when compared to sim drivers.. I guess I've been spoiled by them, I dunno. sure there are a few things here and there that'll be unique to that game's dynamic, but in the end, its an arcade driver

go back and play 2 for a little while, youll notice the difference, im a big GT fan, but ive played NFS shift, pro street, and forza 1&2,and they are not all the same by a long shot.none of them feel as good as GT to me. same thing with the difference between TM2 & black. while 2 is nowhere near sim physics its on a different part of the scale than black, and it feels a bit more natural.

I've noticed that TM (in general) handles like a kart racer such as ModNation Racers or god forbid Mario Kart. I think Black captured the theme of Twisted Metal, it was also like a "Grown-up" version for Twisted Metal.

I can't agree with the cart-racer comment, I just don't feel it.  2 and black were so far from eachother as far as driving physics are concerned, there's no comparison.  1 thing I hope they change is sitting in one spot and turning the vehicle... the ONLY vehicle that should be able to do that is a tracked tank.  I never liked how when I would play multiplayer deathmatch, someone would find a good spot, and camp, and turn their car without having to move the car and snipe you.  If they're trying to get into the realistic driving physics, in order to turn your car they should make it so that you have to pull a u-turn or do a burnout in place and spin the car, reverse J-turn, whatever just not the sit and spin.

Well said, Yellow Jacket. I also despise campers, especially how you could camp like that in a vehicle! Maybe if that was a special added, "Perk" for Warthog, the one with Cage driving. The spinning in place thing is not a bad thing, it's just the way people exploit it.

I have to ammend my post oabout the spinning in one spot thing... I think it should be allowed but only by vehicles that are 100% capable of it in real life... while we all know TM is an "arcade" driver, the only two vehicles that should be allowed to do it would be a tracked tank and Axel.  Why Axel?  He's basically a large segway, segways can turn in place cause one wheel rotates and the other doesn't just like a tank turns one side's tracks and the other's remain stationary or the both turn in opposite directions at the same time

I can see TM1 Minion, Axel, TMB Warthog, and possibly TM1 Hammerhead, depending on the driveline set-up.. monster trucks have been known to bust donuts

Well yea, monster trucks you're correct can turn almost in place, they do have to move a little but the thing that makes that possible is the 4 wheel steering.. that's a big help.  Old school Honda Preludes had 4-Wheel Steering too, they handled fucking crazy

EDIT:  My bad guys, I forgot all about the Jeep Hurricane, that thing has 4 wheel independent steering (they call it a T-Box Zero Steer) a 0-degree turning radius and can actually turn like the steering physics in the games
