I was really going to go to E3 this year.

Without  David (and his secret project) theres really no point in going now.

i'm pretty sure he was stoked last year to have his game be shown at E3 this year....

June 2, 2009
"Hey ya'll. Swamped with work this week and following the E3 stuff on the internets. I MAY go up to the show for a day tomorrow but Scott just sent out the milestone list for end of June and there's a ton of shit on there so I could see me skipping all together this year...good news is, we SHOULD be on show floor next year! So excited...and it's only 12 months away :)

Anyway, not much blogging this week but I am twittering when I get a chance, so follow me on twitter if you like :)...twitter=so much faster than blogging :)" -DJaffe

i cant fathom sony's reasoning for keeping this damn game under wraps, Im sure alot of the fans including myself are far past being sick of the waiting game now...

Yes, noobs don't fucking keep up with the thousand other posts that have said the same thing.

Anyways, like mart said, I'm getting tired of waiting and playing the guessing game as to when the new TM is going to be "officially" announced and which video game conference Jaffe is going to be attending so that we can further speculate as to when its going to be announced. I don't care any more. When it happens I'm sure I'll know within minutes anyways. I'm past caring until they are ready to reveal gameplay footage.

I'm very optimistic about this game being released and with Jaffe behind it I dont see them shit canning it but I think Sony wants to make this the game to show next year..hopefully. That's what I'm thinking. Too bad he wont be there just means a longer wait. I'm growing patient by each week Lol.

Yes sadly the guy just talks.
I enjoy jaffe's work but sometimes I think he should just say nothing.

Can't really complain to much since we have seen the odd tidbit like those storyboards this year but his guy said he wasn't going to come back online til the game was announced.

The big subject at the minute is on disc DLC.

And since everyone who seems to respond on his twitter about this is negative I really would stop bringing the subject up.

He'll start in about the used games debacle next again, you watch.

PLEASE JAFFE STAY DARK *UNLESS* YOU CAN SHOW US MORE GAME HINTS OR A FULL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Seriously, i think it'll be better for him, us and the game all round.

This is just my opinion of course...

EDIT: if it matters at all one of his earlier tweets did state that he's already booked into Comic Con.
But if thats when the game is shown for the first time then imo I don't think the impact is going to be as big as E3?

Just been a realist, sorry for sounding negative.
I'm as excited as all of you to finally see this but in the last 2 or 3 weeks I've seen myself losing interest ever so slightly.

I feeling like Xizor. I'm actually tired myself of them treating this like it's some fucking area 51, or a fucking Roswell crash.

Haven't understood it, probably never will.

they're treating it like its gonna be Game of the Year when it comes out, like its a flagship franchise. don't get me wrong, I love the games and all but Sony never really seemed to care too much about it one way or another

Well, "big game announcements" get made in the industry just about every day of every week, of every month, of every year these days so its not like all publishers, developers, and hardware makers save and release every tid bit of good news at some big gaming media gathering like E3, PAX, or whatever this months gathering may be like they did in the past.

I would like to think Sony would make a big reveal out of the new TM by showing it at E3 and surprising us all but I wouldn't be surprised if it just gets announced at random one day out of the blue when no one is expecting it. Either that or it might land a cover story on either a Sony magazine or Game Informer. In which case, soon as word of the cover story gets around everyone will know before the magazine hits stands anyways. Game Informer gets a lot of exclusive first reveal game deals though from my recollection I don't recall very many first party Sony games being announced in Game Informer.

Honestly with the amount of shit that gets leaked these days it wouldn't be hard to fathom that the game may get revealed earlier than intended anyways. I mean, Jaffe himself has almost consistently leaked info for us, the fans, himself. I'm still surprised that people are still guessing as to what he's working on when hes all but said in plain english "I'm working on a new TM". It goes to show how unpopular and forgotten the franchise has become over time. If it was still as popular as it once was every game site would already be on top of the fact that hes making a new TM and would consistently scour the net and every sentence that comes out of Jaffe's mouth as evidence of what may be in the new TM. Which is pretty much what we do here.

He said his oldest daughter is gonna be in a play on the 1st day of E3 and he wasn't gonna miss that. Give him credit for putting family first.

Besides, just because it won't be at E3 doesn't necessarily mean it won't be announced later...right?

Yes BizarroKing I believe your right.
The last time I was at the video game show was sixteen years ago, and the main purpose of it was to get retailers to make commintments to carry the products from video game companies.
Since everything Jaffe touches turns to gold there is really no reason for Sony to try to sell his games, (every retailers gonna want it anyway).
Dave mentioned something about a trophy system that Sony might have wanted implemented in the game, he did not seem interested in it (same goes for me).
This might have caused a delay in the release of the game.

This is all speculation of coarse and I reserve my right to speculate

I reserve the right to reserve my rights. Smiley

I honestly think Jaffe is lying and indeed he will be at E3. IMO hes just trying to add some surprise back into this, since its been sorta-leaked numerous times that he is indeed working on a new TM.

well not the first day, apparently.. but I'm inclined to agree with Roadie here. he should be in the mindset to re-hype this new game since its been dragged out for far too long as it is

I do gotta disagree with you, Xizor. you said that all this speculation seems to show how much the franchise has been forgotten, but every time I read something talking Jaffe and his new game, TM seems to always be the first game they wanna bring up. I have yet to see anything about a new Warhawk, or another Calling All Cars (altho Jaffe himself said that game was rubbish).. I dont think its so much forgotten as it is on the backburner of everyone's brains
