what if it started as Television and web episodes...sorta like The Twilight Zone series?....

It could concentrate on the characters and psychology, and then save the action etc. for a feature length follow up film....

http://www.youtube.com/user/JamesNintendoNerd#p/a/u/1/FqdlDyNcPko

that way, people will know the characters and no setup would be necessary...

there would still be ppl who went to the movie who didnt watch the tv series and be like, 'who's that?'.. 'why'd he do that?'.. 'whats up with the clown?'

I think it would fail pretty quickly, honestly

No it wouldn't.
It only fails when people with No passion are involved.

It would fail. TM isn't very popular. It's an underground series, similar to how Burnout 1 and 2 were. TM just needs its Burnout 3.

PRS said the same thing I was thinking. TM was never popular with the masses, so as a show, it'd fail cause of the masses. sure, the ppl here might watch it religiously, but what are 20-30 ppl versus an entire consensus of viewers?

not to mention whoever got picked to do it would put their own 'spin' on it, and more than likely fuck it all up

Isn't that popular?...are you joking?...

Get over it, Twisted Metal IS POPular...
You're all most likely just don't WANT it to be popular because then it wouldn't feel "special" to you, or like a "pet"....I know how you feel, I was the same way about lots of stuff.

And something gradual presentation like some Web epidsodes of the characters or even some Short films at the beginning of some other Feature length movies at the theater would be cool too...

Those used to exist back in the day.
They were called "serials".
I believe Buck rogers and flash gordon had them...

Ok, so how do you get people aware of it then?...

Do you really think JUST a 2 hour movie would do it justice?

I'm for having the serials at the beginning of other films that come out.
It hasn't been done in AGES...

Then, It would create a Buzz, advertise the games as well, then make a feature MOVIE...

Then release the DVD with all the serials as one movie, or a prequel...
