Longer life bars / rad vehicles and stories.

I hope the next game has the same type of damage and life bars but, recognizes hit points like, hit some 1 w/ a homing missile (8pts flashes near top of the screen)
Just like TMLost....
Throw those 2 together w/ PS3 graphics and online gameplay would be awesome.
Seeing how i missed out on TMBO1 (just like i missed out on MGO1)

Well i have to agree, but even if that did happen i'd still go with TMB because even though TM2 IS in a way better than TMB AND a classic TM game, TMB had more of an impact on me playing it. Specially with all the secrets an whatnot.

ok, thats one side of the coin...

I've been playing TM since the day it came out (thank you IGM for the heads-up), and have played every one except for SB. I played TM2 into the ground, especially since 3 and 4 failed and I was left with no REAL new TMs, I kept on with 2. when I saw the previews for Black, I went down to EB (at the time) the day the game released and bought a PS2 and Black at the same time. I havent touched 2 since (mainly cause it got stolen, but regardless)...

its not that I'm a graphics whore.. the game just happened to look amazing. its the atmosphere... the dank, darkness of everything and everyone. to me, that makes more sense than anything in the past. you wanna talk mechanics.. ? you drive and shoot ppl til they explode. yes, there is strategy and ways to make it more interesting, but nothing you couldnt do in Black that you could do in 2. the only real difference was atmosphere, graphics, and some new ppl.. it was the next evolutionary leap for TM

I have to disagree with you disaster,black was way more arcade like it terms of feel.in TM2 i could powerslide and literally strafe someone FPS style ,i could ram someone and feel the gravity of the impact,i could feel the steering.nowhere near simulation driving,but all the same,the feel was much less arcade like in 2.the other things in black that bothered me were the weapons:i liked having to bullseye someone with the napalms,i loved the remote bombs(if they were in black,my bad,but I remember there being no remotes),i loved the original ricochet bombs and being able to knock dudes into fatal falls and remotes.The boards:New York,suicide slide,antarctica,hong kong,los angeles,were freakin awesome while the boards on TMB were more focused on being dark(many being way too big) and not quite as fun(IMO)and finally,they screwed up warthog.i did like the unlock system but other then that its only a step forward in light of TM3 & 4.

(continued) i do admit that all but the less arcade like feel of TM2 is subjective,if you like black better,thats your thing,i dont mean to be so confrontational.i tend to to get defensive about oldskool twisted metal(you should try arguing with me about olskool resident evil Vs 4&5)but you guys are cool and i respect your opinions.i am confident that the next TM will be the best in the series for both schools of thought here and we can all relentlessly blow the shit out of each other like a good dysfunctional family when it comes out sorry i had to do this in 2 posts,my computer died and my PS3 browser doesnt allow unlimited text per space.peaceout..............

I'm not saying that TM2 was any worse, in all honesty... I mainly prefer the dark atmosphere that Black provides over the bright and colorful world of World Tour. to me, the driving mechanics were pretty much the same. a few slight differences, but to me, arcade is arcade. I preferred the maps in Black over TM2 in some occasions.. the the suburbs, downtown, Zorko. but I did love Antarctica and Hong Kong from 2

when it comes to old skool, you cant get much more older than day 1, and thats where I am. same with RE. I been playing it since the old PS games came in the bigger black plastic cases, and the cover had Chris with the giant spider above him. I've played every RE with the exception of the Wii games, and loved them all. yes, that includes 4 and 5. I do miss the free-roam aspect, and being forced to play linear, but with so much map to run thru, and the detail put in, I forget that its linear

Yes, I think some people are having trouble understanding that some of us like Black better because of the dark atmosphere. I think it totally fits TM FAR better than the happy go lucky bright colors of TM2. I love both games equally and I think TM2 did some things better (I won't go into it all again simply because I've been here forever and we've debated the Black vs TM2 thing to death), but Black will always win my heart simply due to the dark tone, Darkside/Dollface and her special as that was my favorite of the series, and the fact that I put years into playing Black online. I joined TMA back in 2002 when TMBO came out and I can't even count how many games of Black I played online with this community so its always going to hold that sentimental value for me. Those are memories I will carry with me forever.
