TMBO & Xlink - These peeps got 5 in a game.*vi

I made a new post cuz i know if i reply with this on some other thread no TMBO'er will see it.

Ok so I was under the impression that Xlink sucked for TMBO and that nobody could get more than 2 people in a game, and it lagged like shit.

so I was looking on youtube and watching 100%Evil's TMBO vids the other day (woot) and stumbled upon this video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eoz6Rwdq2TE

First off, they have 5 people sitting in a lobby. All looks good, and then they start playing... and it looks fine to me, no laggier than standard TMBO shit-fest fair and yeah asides from the fact that they suck major noob cock it looks normal.

The description on the side of the video says the 7.4 beta has known issues and to use a 7.3.1.4 or something...

maybe this new-ish version works better than the one tried years ago?

TMBO'ers give me your info. Especially the ones who HAVE used Xlink before and know its problems and what you faced.

Interesting.

Does this mean we may actually get to play TMBO again?

X-Link worked for what we needed at the time. There really was no alternative, so we had to put up with all the stuff that would happen. Dropped matches, can't connect, lag like a motherfucker.

Looking at the vid again, it looks like the lag doesn't seem that bad. It doesn't take 3-4 seconds for damage to appear, no bad teleporting, P/U's seem pretty immediate. That looked like a good, legit game

I would gather a guess it COULD be an improvement over what we had to use with X-Link from the looks of it. The only way to know is try.  Very interesting find.

Yea It requires a PC and a router to connect I believe. You login via the Xlink  on your PC then hopefully somehow get the PS2 to connect to the Xlink using the router (I forget how its done). Kilrahi posted the exact instructions on the old TMA. Ill get ahold of him and see if he still has the instructions and post them here.

I assume your PS3 would have to be able to play PS2 games, which unless you had an older model, wouldnt work. If you did have Back comp on your ps3 and PS3s have wireless on them. I dont see why not. All you need is to be connected to the router UNLESS for some reason, xlink itself wont support PS3.
