yeah dude, carma was blow shit up while you race, there were several games like that on snes.
Toasty,i think you got chip on your shoulder, the way you talk about genres, its like saying wolfenstein is the only real FPS(i love my metaphors
).if V8 was made only for the purpose of capitalizing on the success of TM,then it would have been mediocre, instead, what you have is a game that might play somewhat similar, but you can do stuff like massive combos, juggle combos.you had explosive objects in the battle ground that added a serious tactical value to game play, the ability to use particular weapons in multiple ways, floaty physics etc....
Luxoflux definitely had a love and passion for the genre,of course they wanted to capitalize on it(no one in the indusry would make a game that they wouldnt want to capitalize on,thats capitalism brother),and the fact that they did capitalize very well proves they made a good product.you dont get a new franchise to greatest hits status by making a mediocre game.they brought it then, and if activision would give them the funding for a full disc modern version Isopod labs would bring it now
im gonna make new board called "Twisted Metal,Vigilante 8, and Rogue trip" under Brawl on the wall so we can be on topic with this discussion
