I was amazed Edgar survived the first round as well. A draw was a good call because neither guy definitively won the fight. I was rooting for Maynard anyway.

Can't wait until the Silva vs. Belfort and Jones vs Vader card coming in early February.

As for the StrikeForce HW tourney, I am taking Barnett to win it all. Fedor will get through everyone then fight Barnett and lose.

I scored it 47-47. tie, and good fight for sure

I think Fedor will win and hopefully get to fight Werdum and exact revenge.

The problem is Werdum fights Overeem first. And if you missed Brett Rogers vs Overeem....Overeem threw Rogers off him like he was a 10 year old child. Roger is MUCH stronger than Werdum. Lastly, Werdum will not get the luck of Overeem diving on top of him like Fedor. I could see Werdum getting knocked down and Overeem going over to punch him more and Werdum trying to get a leg lock. But again, Overeem won't pounce to finish unless he knows he has Werdum done.

Can't wait.

Love them shoops

Yeah I feel Overeem will beat Werdum as well, but I'm hoping Fedor eventually get his revenge.......... but Overeem/Fedor would be just as badass.

I will be attending UFC 129 in Toronto, as well as the Fan expo for two days, should get to meet and get autographs from tons of fighters.

Should be very fun.

What do you guys think about Lesnar and Dos Santos being the next Ultimate Fighter coaches?  Since Cain is out with an injury, I heard the winner gets the "interim" heavyweight title and fights Cain when he comes back for the unified title.

I think it is pretty shitty.  I am a Brock Lesnar fan, and I was surprised how quickly he went down both against Cain and Carwin.  Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, since he came off of being deathly ill, and is highly under trained compared to both Carwin and Cain.  I heard he tried to get out of his UFC contract and fight Undertaker at Wrestlemania XX (whichever is in March).  For Dana White to decline him to go to Wrestlemania, and then reward him with not only a title shot but a coaching shot (when there HAS TO BE better coaches out there).

The bottom line is Dana is using Brock for the cash cow that he is while he still has Brock.  And he is keeping Brock happy by dangling that carrot in front of his face.  I get it.  Two birds, one stone.  I don't like the precedent it sets for star athletes that constantly get their way.  Anyone have an opinion on the matter?

This.

They are not getting an interm belt to my knowledge, just chance to fight Cain.

Hes a wrestler, his striking skills are abysmal, and he can't take punches and even disallowed his training camp from hitting him in the face.

Good, I was going to be pissed if they give an interim belt out.  They didn't give one when Anderson Silva was hurt, nor Shogun.  If they give an opportunity to give an interim belt to Lesnar again, it only be to quiet the crybaby side of him.

I don't like Lesnar as a person, he's a douche, but I enjoy watching his fights, definitely.

UFC will try to hold guys to their contract no matter what, especially if they're a huge PPV draw like Brock is.

As for the coaching spot. It makes great sense. Initially Dos Santos was going to fight Cain. That fight would not get anywhere near the amount of PPV draws as Brock/Cain did. So now you have Dos Santos on national TV to the more casual fan. If he steamrolls Brock as many think he will, he will have gained a decent amount of fans, not Brock numbers, but better than before anyway.

Secondly, UFC gets TV viewers with Brock on their TUF show that has been sort of struggling lately compared to older seasons.

There are no other real clear heavyweight frontrunners besides Dos Santos and Lesnar. This gives the UFC time to find their next possible title contender after this interim title fight occurs and the winner fights Cain. In all honesty I see Carwin probably getting the next shot after all is said and done.

As for Brock not being able to take a punch, he can very well. He's never been ROCKED like Cain was vs Kongo and how Carwin was vs Gonzaga, because he has excellent defense when it comes to turtling up in a ball. He needs better FOOTWORK on the feet to swing left and right and not just move forward, move backward. This would keep him from getting drilled, backpeddling and falling down and punched repeatedly.

If he can do that, I think he will beat Dos Santos because no one knows his ground game and I personally think it's probably on par with Big Nog which means they are a black belt in bjj but it's not a top notch belt in comparison to getting your black belt from other guys.

Sort of off topic, but did anyone play the EA MMA game? Surprisingly I never heard anyone talk about it on here. Either no one tried it or it was pretty bad compared to the UFC games. I never got around to trying it so I was just wondering.
