if you really look, nothing is to scale.. poles, trees, ppl, etc.. in comparison to the player cars

I don't believe it is so much the scale as it is the way the cars handle.
Might be the Velocity and Timing that is off..or WHATEVER you call it.
Take GTA: san andreas for example.
When you're cruising round the Neighborhood in that game the scale is similar to TM, but the camera and the way the cars handle are of course Different.
I also like the physics in the Stuntman: Ignition game, those were tight.
Make the Physics like TM2, GTA, Stuntman:Ignition and it wouls be tits.
I don't know If those games are more realistic driving simulators or not, to each their own i suppose; but they are certainly more fun to play than any other race games i've dabbled with.

no, GTA nor S:I would be considered driving simulators but I do like the way the cars feel.. kinda realistic without being too over the top. if they made the TM cars drive like that, I'd be in heaven

the scaling in GTA was spot-on perfect. the ppl, compared to the cars, compared to the trees and lightpoles, compared to the houses and buildings.. it was perfect. but in TM, the player cars were huge compared to everything else on the map. you could park Sweet Tooth next to a house and he'd be the same size if not bigger. I dunno if they were going for some "larger than life" thing, but it always bugged me

Yes, I know they are Not Simulators.  Yet, when I play "Simulators" they seem less realistic than the games I mentioned...(idk, maybe I'm just a excellent driver...)

no, games like Forza and GT make for really good simulations. the way the cars handle and everything is just like in real life.. most ppl dont drive their real cars like they do the ones in the game, thats why they seem off to you. try taking a hairpin and 80mph in your real car and see if you dont start to slide out

hell, even Forza 3 has an expert mode that requires you to hold a button for the clutch while shifting gears in a manual.. its fucking amazing

Still...I'd much rather take a hairpin turn at 80 mph in a REAL car on a REAL "course"/road than in some stupid videogame...
...I mean for real..aren't y'all gettin bored of videogames yet?...
Everything in society is a God damn simulator nowadays.
...I'm tired of doing things VIRTUALLY...

really, then why the fuck are you here.. on a msg board for a VIDEO GAME.. making observations on a VIDEO GAME..

see now, I could take a hairpin at 80 in my real life car. and in all reality, with my suspension mods and AA traction tires, I could do it without much issue. but there is this thing called money.. it costs money to put my car on a race track, where I can safely run my car. it costs money when I rip my ball joints and tie rod ends apart pulling .9g's and have to pay to replace them. and in these trying times, I dont have all that extra money laying around.. sure, I could go do it on the street and risk killing myself or someone else, but I'm also not a moron

video games were design to let ppl escape into a world where they can do the things they wanna do in real life but just dont have the means to do so.. or its 100% fantasy. you say you're sick of doing everything in a VIRTUAL world... well ok, IN REAL LIFE, go rip the eyeball out of a cyclops and lemme know how that works out for ya

I'm afraid to go 80 MPH and do a hairpin in my car. Can '92 Civics pull it off?

Sorry, it wasn't aimed at YOU...
I wasn't criticizing YOU...
It was a general statement...
Chill
...would be nice to be able to afford as many ball joints and suspension as we wanted....

nope.. the JEG'S Cavi is a full car with a tube chassis to convert it to rear-wheel drive. the Summit Cavaliers and Sunfire had fiberglass noses on them tho.. so did Nelson Hoyas' old Cavalier. I've never seen a full-drag Cavalier that was all fiberglass

Alright.. well... when you're 17 and have to buy your own car, there isn't a huge window of opportunity. Plus, it's reliable... except my speakers need fixin'

at 17, I didnt have a license or a car.. consider yourself lucky. I've spent alot of money and effort to get my cars where they were.. the one I've got now, I'm the happiest with tho.. and in the last few weeks, has changed drastically, and after this weekend, will change even more
