Yeah, it was planned but SCEA scapped Axel's story due to him being a kid bound to a wheelchair, and they were afraid of getting compaints of parents of handicaped children who would buy this game and could be offended by the ending.

It's mainly Axel wishes to walk again and his legs are replaced with robotic ones. Axel finds out he can't move, and that's because the legs are remote-controlled, and Calypso has the remote. So he uses it to torture Axel.

I reckon Mime wouldn't have an ending anyway but Darkside should have.

If Axel's ending was cut because it was possibly offensive, then why is he still in the intro, where there's a scene where Billy Calypso kicks him down the street.
